Curious what Admissions would think about a gap in work experience? I would love to leave b4 and spend full time studying for GMAT/ searching for a new job w better wlb. Insight/input much appreciated.
What's the range for mid-experienced SM at Big 4 these days (base-cash benefits-variable)? I want to compare notes - recently received a Big 4 offer but they were not able or willing to match my current package (about 95k all in including variable).
How many big 4 people are done busy season right now for audit? Started getting asked to work 80 hour weeks which is why I didn't go big 4. Thinking about switching if it stays this way.
Hello everyone, I have an upcoming case study with one of the big 4 for a M&A generalist position at manager level. Does anyone have any guidance based on: "Nothing particular to prep, we will share an information memorandum with you and you and you will be given a number of questions. We will ask you to read that for an hour in your own time and then present answers to the questions for 30 minutes to myself and another director. The questions will be a mix of qualitative and quantitative."
How difficult will it be to switch to the commercial consulting practice of another Big 4 firm coming from Deloitte’s Federal consulting practice?
I accepted an offer at Deloitte and start in three weeks. I am also in processes at another Big 4 and MBB. If I get substantial better offers from them, would it be crazy to leave D after a couple months? Start dates for other potential offers are Jan 3.
For those that quit big 4 about 5-10 years ago as a senior, are you regretting your decision for not staying longer? I’m trying to figure out my long term plan...
Don’t mean to sound stupid but would I be able to hold ETFs if I work at Deloitte (or any Big 4)? ETFs hold a lot of different companies/stocks so would there be a compliance/independence issue?
What consulting firms have Talent Management generalist consulting positions? I know the Big 4 firms have generalist models but none of them are known for TM specifically imo.
Currently a first year staff in Risk Advisory in a Mid-Tier Firm hoping to move to Big 4 for either Risk or Cyber. When would be the most appropriate time to make the change? I heard that Senior Staff in mid-tier would most likely be hired as an “Experienced Hire” in Big 4. So would it be smarter to make the move now as a first year staff since I’ll be considered Experienced Hire anyway?
I have always wondered why PwC promotes so much later than other Big 4 firms (3 years to Sr, 3 more to manager). Every answer I've gotten has just been a complete load of shit...
Would experience in big 4 FDD make one a competitive candidate for FP&A or other roles in a FAANG several years down the line?
Thinking about going back to school(MBA) after 3 years of Big 4 experience. Worth or nah?
Got a 4.5% raise going from staff 1 to 2 at a big 4. 3 rating ( nobody got above a 3). Is that normal? I was expecting more.
I want to switch role as an AWS developer. But I have just learnt the things on my own in AWS. In interview I am asked questions based on real scenarios on which I am not having any experience. Any suggestions? Even if I do hands on on services like Linux academy or quiklabs, it would not help. (AWS cloud migration experience one can get if worked on a real project). Please help.
Any IT Architects (from BCG Platinion) out there? Have my first interview round coming up and have never had any „IT strategy“ cases before. Any tips?
Any Big4 attorneys have insight into PWCs People In Deals group? Interview coming up and could use the help. TIA!
Looking to get a few certifications, I have worked in both IT and HR consulting and am trying to decide between ITIL, SHRM, and PMP. Any thoughts on which would be best for future, quickest to get, hardest test? I get the cert paid for and a bonus upon completion, so trying to decide which one to pursue or the order if I want multiple.
Are there women here that have a significantly larger income than their male partner/ spouse? My husband used to make a little more money 10 years ago when we first met (when we were both making under 60k). Then I started climbing a fast track career ladder and now make a total comp of close to 300k and he is still under 80k... (which is totally fine with me btw). But I have noticed that this has caused a lot of serious issues for our relationship. any advice?
What % of a raise can I expect with a 2 rating going from C to SC? Technology consultant
I owe so much to this bowl! I'm finally putting in my 2 weeks notice and leaving for a whopping over 70% increase in TC!! Current TC: $87k (most likely would increase to $92k if I get bonus and promo next month) Offer TC: ~$150k+ ($110k base, $20k+ bonus, $20k rsu) YOE: 1 year Trust me, don't give up. I fell into severe depression ever since I started my consulting analyst career out of college, saw 5 therapists, gained 10 lbs, and broke relationships. I'd love to give back to you all here!
Comp question - what should a B4 Senior with a CPA, CFF, CFE, and a MBA with 4 years forensic exp (D&T) and 6+ years non-forensic exp (industry) in NYC and DC markets expect in this current climate?
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
I just want to hear the explanation for why staff who started during COVID are doing so badly on average (and I have heard this from every level including staff themselves) from the pro 100 percent work from home people. If you agree it’s real, what is your solution? If it can’t be fixed, are we just accepting that the people we expect to backfill our positions aren’t going to be ready?
What was the reason for your credit card debt?

Hey there! I just got an offer for an IFS position in risk and quality. Anyone know the average work hours per week?
Partner: you will work as an acting senior, but we do not grant you the rank of senior or a raise. Staff: what? How can you do this? It’s outrageous, unfair! Partner: take a seat, young auditor. Me: what about the client who ate all the cookies?
How often did you follow up with @EY Law during h1b transfer process? Seems like EY Law people does not respond to emails..
WLB at MBB (including during COVID)? Thinking about moving over from Big 4 (at Manager or Associate level), but also don’t want to grind like I did in my 20s …since I’m thinking about becoming a new father in the next 2 yrs
