I keep $5k in an AMEX high yield savings account (0.4% which is a joke but better than the .01% my bank gives) and then I have a Roth IRA which I view as an emergency fund of sorts- since I can always withdraw my contributions without tax implications. Mine is through Vanguard and if I make a withdrawal it hits my checking the next business day.

Equities would be a good choice if you want a higher return but need quick access. That said while you can access it quickly you risk losing some of it. What is your risk /return tolerance?

Do you have an emergency fund? Need more information. If you have no savings to tap in case of emergency, I would not invest it and would put it somewhere safe even if it gets little interest

It’s 6,000…. Any gains from it in a safe short term investment are gonna be negligible.

Muni bond ETF can get you around 3% annual with low volatility and tax free

Pwc 1 and 3, I’ve been in 3x ETFs for the last 18 months, got 300% return and sold it all at market highs.

OP seems like he finally saved 6k and doesn’t want it to disappear. I’m not gonna be the one to talk him into the stock market at market highs in the middle of a slowly recovering economy. Waiting for the correction next month…

Technically? An IRA is that. Or a taxable

Pot stocks

Or just pot. Cut out the middle man

Buy stablecoins and stake them

I really don’t like my bf’s family but he keeps pushing me to spend time with them. They’re extremely petty & manipulative of their children & it really bothers me. Could I potentially have a convo with him about reducing my contact with them? He loves my family & consistently makes an effort to spend time with them but we’re very low maintenance & I honestly wouldn’t care if he stopped tbh.

Any advice on a standing desk? I just got a new job that is giving me a stipend to buy wfh set up. Thinking of a investing in a nice standing desk (heard Jarvis is pretty good) but also read from the reviews that it is really heavy.. I move around a lot so this is not ideal. Does anyone know of any alternative that are easier to move around ? Also any advice on a good monitor is also appreciated.

Can you have a middle class lifestyle in the Bay Area if one person works for the gov and another person works for (say) a tech company? Wife and I are considering relocating there in the next year or two. I’ve worked in the public sector my whole life and find a lot of value in the things I work on, even if not for the highest pay. But it seems like unless I also went and worked for a tech company (SDE or data eng probably), we’d drop from our comfortable middle class lifestyle we have now.
