Any ideas for a gift for a new mom? A friend of mine had a baby girl about a month ago. They live in a different city . I cannot visit but wanted to something over for good vibes 😁

Make the gifts focused to the mom instead to the baby unless you know what exactly they still need. It's hard to give baby gifts since families often already have what they need before the baby is even born. Give a care package to the mom. Specific suggestions are fave snacks like chocolate bar, bath bomb, scented candles, maybe one of the pillow spray for sleep, massage pillow, a comfty set of PJs, etc. I'm a first time mom too and I would be thrilled if I get a gift for self-care.

You could send some babygrows for 6-12 months old (most people buy newborn ones which they grow out of really quickly). If they live in a town with coffee shops around, then a gift card so they can grab a coffee when they're taking their little one out for a walk.

Just went to visit my friend and her newborn and we just brought her a bunch of frozen meals that they could heat up with minimal effort. They live in a remote area where grubhub/food delivery isn't really a thing. They were very grateful to have easy options.

Buy something off her registry! If no registry, i like to send a personalized hooded towel or blanket from PBK or some cute outfits. You could also send dinner(s) if they don’t have anyone there helping them.

I received a job offer for a PM position with a base of $125K and a 10% bonus, fully remote and ok benefits. The parental leave is pretty bad, just FMLA and STD/LTD so the most I’d get is 60% of my salary for 12 weeks. I’ve cancelled most of my interviews except for one where the pay is $135K, 20% bonus, hybrid schedule, good benefits and 16 weeks fully paid parental leave. I’d like to start my family in a year or two - is it better to take the remote gig or the hybrid role with full paid leave?

Our day has come! Props to you, father fishies.
