Make the gifts focused to the mom instead to the baby unless you know what exactly they still need. It's hard to give baby gifts since families often already have what they need before the baby is even born. Give a care package to the mom. Specific suggestions are fave snacks like chocolate bar, bath bomb, scented candles, maybe one of the pillow spray for sleep, massage pillow, a comfty set of PJs, etc. I'm a first time mom too and I would be thrilled if I get a gift for self-care.

You could send some babygrows for 6-12 months old (most people buy newborn ones which they grow out of really quickly). If they live in a town with coffee shops around, then a gift card so they can grab a coffee when they're taking their little one out for a walk.
Just went to visit my friend and her newborn and we just brought her a bunch of frozen meals that they could heat up with minimal effort. They live in a remote area where grubhub/food delivery isn't really a thing. They were very grateful to have easy options.
Going to visit a friend that just had a baby and was going to get a cute outfit for baby and a nice self-care bundle for her
a set of gift cards to her favorite restaurants. also, Amazon has a cute "board" with days of the week with clips to attach a card to each day
Love a good swaddle blanket
Buy something off her registry! If no registry, i like to send a personalized hooded towel or blanket from PBK or some cute outfits. You could also send dinner(s) if they don’t have anyone there helping them.
Thank you, ladies! These are great ideas, I appreciate your advice 😁
