Any ideas for a second career for a high school counselor? I plan to retire at 60 this year, but will need a job to supplement my retirement income until I get social security.

How old are you and how much do you have in your 401k?

How do I retire by next week? Need suggestions. Thank you. ✊ We in this together.

For those who get paid annual bonuses, is it better to put a portion of that into your 401k from a tax perspective (while still maxing out for the year) vs maxing out your 401k via regular paystubs over the course of the year? What’s a better strategy?

Hi All, am a novice in investments but I am interested to learn. I currently have approximately $25k in HSA and have $200k in IRA (rolled over from previous employers 401k). I am inclined to invest heavily in ETFs but am not sure how I should break down my portfolio and how I should evaluate a ETF. Any pointers would be helpful

Hypothetically, what would you do if you unexpectedly received $1.5m today? No caveats, no depends on situation, no bs responses. Genuinely interested in your answer. Thank you.

Am I the only one who thinks $100,000 isn’t really that much anymore?

Assuming you’re already maxing pre tax 401k, how much do you roll over into a Roth IRA a year vs. traditional brokerage? (Ignore $6k threshold since it would be through backdoor)

I’m about to turn 24. What advice would you give yourself at this stage?

How much does everyone have in 401k/retirement accounts and savings? Please state your age! I’m trying to figure out how behind I am

What is your number you need to hit to retire early?

Wanted to share this somewhere!! Recently hit $200k net worth at 27 as a daughter of low-income first gen immigrants. I know this isn’t a lot compared to others here but it’s a lot for me!! I don’t have a super high salary (making around $100k/year for last two years for benchmark) but have been saving and investing aggressively since I started working in 2018. Super excited and wanted to share 🙂 I’ve had minimal guidance from parents so resources like this group have been super helpful!

Which big four firm has the best 401k match?

Other than higher pay (I didn’t become a lawyer to get rich 🤣) what is the benefit of working for BigLaw, or private practice in general? As a government lawyer, I make 6 figures, have excellent benefits, no billable hours requirements, more time off than I know what to do with (including mental health days), a pension, a 401(K), option to chose whether to WFH or not, no weekend work, no working before 8am or after 5pm. It seems like so many lawyers in private practice are unhappy.

Please vote for which you’d realistically / actually want (and why). Context is mid-30s for me, FYI. Either a) $800k total comp, but work 70-80 hrs a week and content / work you genuinely don’t care about, b) $500k and work you care about / want to do long term but still working ~70 hrs/wk, c) $300-350k work you care about and want to do long term, working 25-40 hrs/wk (so plenty of time for other hobbies, fam, etc). In all 3 (a,b,c) you’re not allowed to have another income stream / side gig.

put 6K into my roth IRA, just want to dump it into a few ETFs and forget about it until i’m old and wrinkly - what should i go with? VOO? QQQ? thank you in advance for helping me retire!!

Broke up with love of my life due to finances. I still think about him everyday and wonder if I should go back. How do I know I made the right decision? I make 200k, he makes 50k. Money is fluid and not very important to me, but he wants to take care of his parents who will retire in few years, and I couldn’t help but think this is a bottomless pit. I don’t get why they are retiring in 60s with no $, and I want to save up for my retirement and future kids, not pay his parents rent. His friends

Looking for some guidance about a personal loan for wedding expenses. My fiancé and I are getting married in June and will probably need to take out a loan of about $15-20k to cover the expenses we can't out-of-pocket. Has anyone here done the same and if so, what lender did you use?

Do y’all contribute to 401K? Not sure if I should with all the uncertainties
