I’m so fascinated by this. In the middle of a pandemic and human rights movement someone has to ask for advice on how to spend a good chunk of money on stuff, objects.
Really? When you get extra money, raises, or other sums of money, do you turn around and donate it to charity? Do you buy the cheapest vehicles, toys, and homes, to maximize giving? If you do, hey good on you, but I'm willing that most of those saying "give it away", that is NOT their situation. My family gives 5-10% a year of our after tax income to charity each year (more then many others, less the some, but it does good and press s my feel good buttons), maybe OP is in the same situation and just wants to spend money to have fun.
OP - consider spending it on something that saves you time - ie, if you have a house with a yard, more time efficient equipment, or a Roomba/robot cleaner, or something else. Not much is more valuable than your time, and anything that saves your own free time will feel like a great investment for years to come. I've had this revelation lately and recently purchased a lawn tractor, $3300, but is going to save me roughly 40 hours a year between mowing and leaf pickup. That is 40 hours with my wife, the kids, extended family, and pursuing other hobbies. Worth every penny
I’d say take out a 1000 in cash, give 50 bucks each to 10 homeless people and then go to local supermarket and offer to pay for groceries of a couple people. The other 1500, spend the weekend researching charities of your chose and donate 500 to your top 3. Go to bed a satisfied person :)
wow i didn’t realize you had to spend your money on charities during this time or be considered a terrible human being. anyone here know how the economy works?
I must have missed the part where someone said OP is a terrible human being. I just saw people offering charitable ideas, and why not in a time when it’s needed more than ever?
Perhaps if you feel attacked by that you might take some time to self-reflect and examine why that is. Good luck!
Honestly I just got into the stock markets. I love working from home and watching CNBC in the background while I work. It’s a great feeling to have “skin in the game” when everyone is speaking on the fed, markets, policy etc.
And honestly for $2500 it’s still not enough for a solid mid range watch either, those start at 3000+. I would look at Tudors from the 90s with the Rolex crown, maybe a Rolex explorer? Or if going new maybe a nomos or longines.

Happy to pitch in ideas! Donate it to ACLU, Doctors Without Borders, the Yemen famine crisis. Buy backpacks and school supplies for impoverished neighborhoods, donate to international orphanages, contact schools in low income neighborhoods and offer to purchase 2 laptops for students (you’d be surprised many can’t do home schooling due to lack of personal laptops!). Hand out $10 bills or gift card to 250 people as an act of kindness, contact women and children shelters and ask what supplies are needed..ah so many ways to spend $2,500! I hope you keep us posted on your decision
