Any ideas on where tax attorneys end up if they leave law firms/big 4? Does the skill translate well to finance?

Any particular focus in tax law?

Not sure yet. Have you seen certain tax law streams lead to unique exits?

Lots of inhouse opportunities

I think every multi jurisdictional business entity will have a need for a tax strategy person. Our company has a team that helps evaluate tax strategy and obviously the Big4/JR combo is clutch.

I have been working into software development for past 8 years and my current CTC is around 50 lakh (including stocks of listed company). I don’t want to work into any managerial role for next 7 years more and also don’t want to work for companies like amazon where there is no work life balance.

Which all software companies in India i can work for where I can expect 10% CTC growth, a decent work life balance so that I can have a good married life in future. Thanks

I keep getting contract offers on LinkedIn (think self-employed consultant). The rates seem really good ($120-$150/hr). I have around 5 years exp and a CISSP. Anyone did it? Any feedback?

Additional Posts in Law Exit Opportunities

Currently a 3rd year (rising 4th year) M&A associate at a v30 - I like the firm, but M&A. I still want to practice law, but I’d like to transition into advertising/media law. Any ideas how?

I’ve worked the last nine years for my state legislature as an attorney analyst, drafting and analyzing proposed legislation. I’ve primarily worked on health professional regulations. Next year, I will apply for student loans forgiveness under the public service program and would like a change. I know others who have gone into lobbying/government relations, but I would like to find other options to pursue. I’ve never done billable work so not sure if law firm life is for me. Any suggestions?

I’m an associate looking to make a career move to a bigger city -New York, Chicago, Seattle, etc.- not super picky, just looking for a change and a challenge.
