Any immigration attorneys have advice for a marriage based green card interview? My interview for my wife is coming up and I’m just trying to see if there’s anything we should be mindful of.

I had my interview in 2020. They basically just check the forms, asked basic questions and saw that we had children together. Make sure to bring photos of you guys together in vacations, with families, etc. They actually made a mistake about some documents that needed to be filed and I had to correct the interviewer that the medical file was processed according to delays according to the section of said law. LOL. Thank god I flagged that for the interviewer because she would have been put that on hold… and that was literally 4 days before the lockdown in NYC. Anyways, the interview was absolutely nothing to worry about in my experience.

Not an immigration attorney, but went through the interview process with my husband this year. The interviewer pretty much told us we had an open and shut case when he greeted us in the waiting area to pull us into the room. He was super nice. We brought a whole host of photos - tbh he didn’t even seem that interested in them. I think there was one thing where he asked if there had been an arrest or “infraction”, we had answered no, and the guy pressed and asked if there had even ever been a traffic ticket (the answer was yes). He changed the form. Otherwise, super easy and quick. FWIW, it probably depends on where your spouse is from - mine is from Canada.

Just be natural. They are nice when they see you are both professional and nothing raises a flag. Know lots lots details if you live together. Like how much your monthly utility, if you happen to live/have lived in a neighborhood that they are familiar, they will ask you all the good restaurants. Very casual conversations. If you are Bona Fide couple, you will pass with ease.

Was laid off from D recently and have been interviewing primarily for strategy roles. Curious for any advice converting in final rounds. I have been through several at this point and not gotten the offer. Received very positive feedback from the teams about my performance but in each case they said it was very competitive and ended up going with someone with slightly more direct experience. Tough to go through several 6+ week multi round processes and not convert. Any help or advice appreciated!

A lot of senior leaders in my team have 1 so I’m really not sure at this point. The opportunity costs are high, but I’m well aware of the long term benefits. I’ve also already taken the GMAT and gotten a 740. I’m an Asian male and find the hurdles that we go through for admissions a turn off as well.
