Any insight in to Publicis Health Media or working at Publicis in general? Would you work there over an omnicom / ipg agency if pay was significantly higher ?

As a holding company they aren’t doing well financially.

Turnover is high in this industry in general, to be fair.

I’ve worked at a pub groupe agency for 6 months and want to get out. The work we do is abysmal and I’ve been fed nothing but lies since I’ve started.

When it comes to raises and professional development, Publicis is a distant 4th place behind WPP, Omnicom and IPG. Not to say all of their agencies are bad (they’re not) but Publicis is just generally not well run, and it makes their holding group a less desirable place to be

I’d disagree. Publicis isn’t doing well at the moment, but they at least put through some promos this year (depending on the agency). In my time at a WPP agency, I saw zero promotions or raises - there weren’t even defined promo cycles and training was almost non-existent. Training at Publicis is light years better.

I haven't been with the Groupe long, but I like it so far, and my account works closely with PHM. The benefits are pretty standard, and even though we're in Q4 the hours have been reasonable. I've worked at an Omnicom agency in the past too, but it was probably the worst under the holding company and hopefully not a good representation of the holding company as a whole.

I’ve heard from a couple people that the culture in the Chicago office isn’t great, but I can’t speak to other offices. Also, those people all left the agency, so obviously it’s a biased sample set, so, grain of salt...

I was at an IPG agency. It was turnover central. Along with layoffs.

Mind me asking which one?

Omnicom all day long.

It’s impossible to describe an entire holding company or even agency in a sentence like so many try to do here. It will usually come down to your manager and client, if those things are strong, life can be good, if not, it doesn’t matter the broader culture of the agency or the relative financials of a holding company based in another office or often another continent. Unless you’re C level or close to that tier, choosing a role based on the holding companies financials or approach shouldn’t really matter as much as the things closer in to your world (immediate team, role, manager, compensation, client)

PHCG is a forever shitshow. However, it can be a blast while you’re in it, and getting promoted is easy during all the mergers and reshuffling... until.....

I recently left the bank channel and went Indy, I’ve been successful at moving clients and assets over and am just getting started. A former bank advisor colleague has show interest in partnering up. For comparison purposes our AUM and production numbers were comparable. I did more fee based business while he did more VA and insurance business but we both have a fairly balanced product mix. What are thoughts on forming a new partnership? What should I be thinking about while having discussions?

Wide variety of policy options to choose from/customize 3. Good customer service This is my 1st insurance purchase ever so greatly appreciate any recommendations Thnx!

Insurance Defense Associate new to group. Just finished first year on the defense side after 6 years on the Plaintiff side, joined 3 weeks before lockdown. WFH with 6 and 2 year old. While billing 2k in a year with kids at home all day is nuts, you will not get better balance in a small pltff firm. Small firm partners are allergic to WFH, and can't afford to be flexible with when an associate gets to their work. The support of a larger firm is what has kept me alive this past year.

Was told I’d only have one round (4 interviews), each split 50/50 on case/behavioral. This is for an Associate position and will be interviewing with AP/P/SP level. Is this typical? Since I see most people have multiple rounds.

Hi Tax Bowlers, I'm an experienced associate (2yrs) in a Big 4 Transfer Pricing division. I have reached a point in my career where I am considering taking up a professional certification. Several colleagues recommended taking up either ACCA or CFA, however, I see little connection between these certifications and the work that I am currently doing, and what I plan to do in the future. What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?

I feel like I’m not learning anything at my internship. It’s easy work and good pay though. Should I try to take on another project or multiple to try to gain more experience? But I was told it’ll be much harder and I would be expected to work longer hours and managers will be rough on me. Is this worth it when I go to school full-time as well while trying to balance a part time job? (The internship at D is expected to be part time but they might make me work more).
