Any insight into in-house gigs at studios/networks? Ie HBO, CBS, NBC etc? Pros and cons? Have applied for a few and have gotten some reciprocal interest but I don’t know any lawyers in this space. Should I add my secondment experience to my resume/LinkedIn profile? I've never seen anyone do this but it seems like something that would be appealing to in-house employers. Applying for some in-house M&A jobs, and a big focus is being able to run deals. I of course feel very comfortable running deals from the corporate side and managing multiple teams, but have obviously always had an army of specialists in biglaw. How does this work in house? I’m primarily thinking from a tax perspective — I likely wouldn’t be able to structure a deal (and don’t think many of my peers could either) since we always rely on a tax team, but not sure if that is an expectation.

Let’s talk Salary. I’m seeking an in-house counsel position as an Associate at a large financial institution. Headquarters is San Antonio, TX. I have 13+ years of Regulatory experience in other industries and 3 years at a large financial institution. I researched on Indeed and there was only one salary posted. Has anyone recently made the switch to in house and now feel unorganized and less productive than when billing hours? For what it is worth, I’ve received good reviews and my superiors seems to be pleased with my work. Been in house for about a year. I just found out that a new hire who has 1-2 less years of experience than me (but will have the same role/title as me) received a compensation package significantly higher than me, mostly due to the market dynamics with law firm associates’ compensation being ratcheted up the past year.
