Any insight into KPMG's FDD group in NYC in terms of culture, hours, etc.

I personally really enjoy it, stunned by how nice everyone is. Haven’t met a jackass if that’s what you are asking. Hours are high but honestly I find the work to be fine so no complaints from me personally.

Agree with K1

Great culture. Teams are willing to teach, answer questions, etc etc from the top down. Work can be very unpredictable week to week. Hard to say hours wise — have had 40 hour weeks on deals and 90 hour weeks in the past 6 months, but the 90 hour weeks don’t tend to be consecutive

I def get that sometimes people are too busy to help. My general experience is that, 9 times out of 10, they are willing to help. The 1 time someone doesn’t have time to answer my questions doesn’t negate the overall experience

Horrible, I’m glad I made the switch to ey. Feel free to DM me if you would like a referral

Following - what does EY do better than KPMG? Why was your KPMG experience so bad?

Hello!

I finished my final round(s) for a TAM position at
Google (GCP) last week and was told by my recruiter that my feedback was great and that I made a solid impression on the team and am "firmly in the running". I was supposed to hear back this week (according to the recruiter) but he just told me that it's still in the process and that I'll have to wait for another week or so.

Is this common at Google ? I have heard they are notorious for being really slow with their hiring process.

ACN allows converting trad 401k (e.g., match) funds to a Roth 401k. Rather than waiting for a conversion ladder when I’m 40, I was thinking that a 25%ish market drop is a good time to run a bulk conversion now, as the drop is > taxes. How would you think about target %?

Hey all, received a Perm audit in Oct 2020 for my case filed in May 2020. It seems like a random audit. Any thoughts of how long it will potentially take to resolve? To make matters more complicated, I’m on a F1 visa OPT expiring within 3 months

I’m not old BUT when I was younger I thought it was important to have all the alphabets after my name (I.e. Phr, SHRM and all the others). I learning that the younger crowd coming into the market thrives off these identifiers yet they know very little about the real world aspects of the job. I watch leadership roll their eyes at the email footers. I feel like keeping those attached to my name hurts my credibility so I removed them…. I’m I thinking wrong?

Looking for anyone in the know about recruiting at Alvarez & Marsal. I applied back at the start of the pandemic and made it to the 2nd to last round interview, but lost out to someone with more restructuring experience. I tried to reapply recently after gaining some experience and passing my CIRA exams, but was told that A&M basically won’t consider me for 3 years after my first application. I’ve never hear of a company having such a policy. Has anyone ever heard of this or have more insight?
