Hello all, need some advice. Am currently working for a government consulting agency, but wishing to leave due to the way the project is being managed...I am in at least 4-5 hours of meetings a day, so barely have time to prepare for demos, preparation of slides for the client, nevermind being able to write decent stories(tickets)... Usually have to rush writing requirements, steps, etc, ...
So I have been looking around.
1/2.... Remainder of story in comments below.
Depends if partner track counsel or non-partner track. At my firm, both are paid above 9th year associates. Bonus comp is based on counsel industry comp not lock step.
Mine starts about 30k or so above senior associate. Top bonuses are maybe 1/3 more.
Same here (V10)
I have seen salaries $100-200k above senior associates, with bonuses comparable to senior associate levels.
I believe it varies widely from $350k to $700k depending on experience, rate, originations, and firm.
My amlaw 200 capped senior associates and counsel at $250k before bonus. Plenty of 9th year+ people were hitting this cap.
Note - these were people without meaningful origination so we’re not being considered for partner.
Note note - I also knew if a select few people who actually got downgraded from partner when their origination dropped off. This happened to a few litigators who got isolated big cases or clients, made partner, then couldn’t keep the numbers up. They got “transitioned” to of counsel. It was weird.
