My company has started my I-140 application. The first stage is complete - got my prevailing wage approved. My HR recently told me that during the next stage (advertising for the role and PERM), my salary cannot be changed - no hikes or raises. Is this true? Some colleagues are giving me conflicting information so I wanted to be sure before asking the HR again.

Got an offer for Atlassian Canada - senior product manager. Initial offer is 160k base +15% annual bonus (24k) + 20k sign on bonus. RSU is 220k USD payable over next 4 years. There's no RRSP match (401k match equivalent). Considering its Atlassian, and current market rate, I think base is low. I would like it to be bumped upto to 180k. The recruiter earlier said the top of the pay range is 165k, which I feel is not really top but maybe median? Help me negotiate please; historically suck at it.

When I first got my job 3 years ago I settled with the title I have now (Marketing Coordinator) even though it’s not really fitting. I’m the sole marketer for 3 companies. I have 7 years of experience and answer only to the C-suite. I’m honestly juggling more work than 1 person should be doing and that makes my title/salary ($54K/yr) seem insufficient. What I’m wondering is, am I being unreasonable wanting a better title/salary and does my title really matter when asking for a higher salary?

How do you ask (as a candidate) about salary without coming off as if you’re only in it for the money? I hate that salary ranges are not required in listings (good on NY for that). I have an interview scheduled for next week, and it sounds like a fantastic opportunity with a great work culture, but I’m nervous about asking. Would you wait till the 2nd interview?

SalesForce folks, a recruiter reached out for an opportunity to interview for a AE position in my specialty. I noticed there is also an opp available locally for a Strategic Account Manager in my vertical as well.
Any one know of pay difference between the two, responsibilities/expectations, how they are viewed in the org itself?
I understand they are different but in my job today, I handle both roles so can go in either direction.

What is a reasonable amount to accept to settle a case with undisputed liability? Let’s say for example potential damages are realistically $100k-1M. Let’s say cost of defense is $200k. No chance of them getting out on SJ or a MTD. Is cost of defense a reasonable starting point? It seems like an offer below that would not be serious.

I am conducting settlement negotiations by phone with opposing counsel (Plaintiff) tomorrow, for the first time. OC so far has been cordial and reasonable. I’m a 5th year associate and decided to stop taking a paycheck this year for a larger percentage of fees. I’m in a firm that gets a lot of high fee cases but has just 2 attorneys. I have about 20 good nursing home cases and am working out the contract. I don’t think I should pay more than 20% overhead with 40% fees on my cases considering Firm gets 100% of owner cases and 60% of mine. Granted, 99% of my cases came from Firm/Boss. I’ve made about $80K so far . Thoughts? Am I asking too much?
