They are market in Miami
It’s a sweatshop.
I have a friend that works in the Miami office and is interviewing to get out ASAP. No work-life balance. She’s had to sleep in her office several times just to get things done.
Really depends on the practice group and the partner(s).
I’m in another GT office. It’s big law just like any other big law but it’s a drink the kool aid firm. If you buy into the culture, you’ll have a great time. If you don’t, you’ll hate it, maybe more than other big law. I do think they give a very long leash on how much you can struggle, and they do really communicate feedback quickly which is helpful.
Not the best reputation. Depends on practice group. Definitely know people who are/were miserable, know some people who can/have tolerated it. I think there’s way better firms in Miami to work for IMO.
I sat next to a retired partner from GT Miami on a plane once as a law student. When I indicated some interest in practicing in Miami down the road, was advised to avoid GT at all costs.
😮
Group will vary. I have some friends in other groups who are in office 12+ hours a day, and then others (myself included) who are rarely working past 7pm. This is super partner/group dependent. As per culture, it’s a law firm, we are paid market and we have all the other major benefits other firms offer
