I’m currently considering an offer and am finding that all online compensation benchmarking is falling flat in terms of understanding how I should be looking at comp for this role. I’d value your advice on how to access cleaner comp data and/or how you might look at comp for this role: Chief People Officer for a $2.5BIL revenue ($150MIL net income) global organization. 50,000 employees. USA based. Looking for Total Comp and cash targets/benchmarks.

Startup offered me a part time job with equity only. Potential for it to turn to full time with a salary once they get more seed funding. It feels risky, but it is an amazing opportunity.
I’m thinking of keeping my full time consulting gig as well as the startup role 15-20 hours a week.
Has anyone been paid in equity only? This is a new concept for me.

I recently got a verbal offer from Salesforce for a senior architect role (level 8) in Toronto location. Base 200 CAD + 15% bonus + 94K RSU (vested over 4 years). I have a phone screen interview with AWS for the position of Systems Engineer with the Linux team early next week. I’ve been a Sys Admin for the last 4 years, and I’m not very well-versed with coding. The phone screen does have whiteboard coding, any tips on what I could do to prepare for this? I’m not sure if I can let the interviewer know I’m not too strong with coding. I do want to take up the challenge, and also find out if the role would require extensive coding though. Any tips?

1st year associate (NY) thinking about lateraling into a large insurance defense firm from Municipal work/L&E, pay jump 75 to 125 and hybrid as opposed to fully in office. Basically is the pay jump/hybrid worth giving up current practice area to ID? If it turns out I hate ID, thoughts on leveraging the litigation experience and substantive knowledge of L&E to then lateral again within 2 years?
