I see a lot of posts about only changing jobs if there's a big raise. I jumped out of consulting into a job that pays the same amount, but has way better WLB, culture, and other benefits. I was just not happy at my old job and I don't regret the switch. If you're not happy, it's ok to move without the change being all about a huge salary jump. I am a proposal manager for federal consulting company. My base is low (112000) but I make up upto 50-70% of my base income with win bonuses. But I get the bonus only after the completion of one year of the base period of the contract. My question is -is this arrangement good or should I negotiate for higher base instead ?

EY MD 🐠 , I’m a newly promoted MD and have a few questions on comp timelines I’m hoping you can help answer since there have been 0 comms to MDs on this 😔:
1. I’ve heard we don’t find out new salaries until mid-Aug with others below PP. Given others new comp doesn’t start until Oct, do you know if that’s when our new comp starts too even though our new titles are already effective?
2. Does the MD rating/comp timeline continue to follow the timeline for others going forward after the first yr?

My boss called me and let me know a client doesn’t want me on their project any longer because they didn’t like my presentation skills. I prepped so hard and really put everything into it. Huge audience and there were a lot of questions - but I navigated as thoroughly and accurately as I could, with the time I had. He told me not to worry about it, that clients been awful for a while and it happens with other companies/colleagues. Only my 10th solo presentation ever - but I still feel awful.

What is Director level comp range at Alix Partners? I understand this varies based on experience but let’s say someone with 15+ years experience, with 5-6 years at other consulting firms.

Am I underpaid? I have 2 YOE and was just promoted to senior analyst at a niche boutique consulting firm calculating economic damages.

I started at $76k in Fall 2020. I got bumped up to $80k in Summer 2021, but the Fall 2021 analyst class also started at $80k. We just hired a new analyst at $83k.

My salary increase from analyst -> senior analyst was 16% to $93k. Am I unreasonable for wanting to apply the 16% increase to something like 85k so I end up at like 99k?
