Corp Strategy role in Juniper is 90% M&A

Following. Juniper can be cool, but if you know about their industry a lot. I would say if you aren’t familiar, it is a little bit difficult to fully embed yourself.

Ok thanks. Iam not interviewing for a m&a role but more bizops. Any insights on those as well as the company itself?

What s the title of the role of you don’t mind me asking?

You have to ask what tasks the biz ops role is going to entail. They can be a catch-all role without substance

I do see corp strategy roles open too and i expressed interest in it to the recruiter. How is jnpr as a company to work for? Not the FAANG brand for sure but work life balance, job stability etc?

I interviewed for a job in a diff location and during interviews they asked me multiple times how I felt abt relocating. I said it was fine, but the more I think about it the less I’m open to relocating. I now have an offer from them, is there anyway to negotiate no relocation? They are remote until mid year 2021. I’m Happy to fly in on a monthly basis but I don’t want to move there.

Anyone else starting to feel nervous about the extra $600/week unemployment going away? Also, is it just me or does it seem stupidly misguided that the Senate/WH prefer to send another stimulus check instead of extending unemployment benefits? Stimulus checks go to a much smaller subset of the population and aren't necessarily going to help those impacted by COVID layoffs. Not to mention the argument that it disincentivizes people going back to work is dumb when there are no jobs to return to.

For data science roles, senior (L6) at AWS or post MBA level (specialist track, so same pay as generalists) at MBB? Comp is 20% higher at AWS just to start. But maybe looks like MBB has better upside - solid path to promotion to manager level with solid comp increase. But worse WLB and it's unclear to me whether MBB data scientist on the resume is up to par with big tech data scientist on the resume. Coming from big 4 so I am considering brand so I can do better with future resume screens.
