OCS 🐠 - I hear there's been a culture change, is OCS more than just "screwing in Oracle" and how's it going? Are experienced hire managers respected when coming from large competitors?
Which organisation is better in terms of work culture and environment. Capgemini or Optiv cybersecurity? Please suggest
Question for any indigenous people out there. My company is seeking to create employee resource groups and would like to use the word tribes to use them, as it is an alliteration to our company name, but also the definition means a group of people from the same community/culture. I was wondering though if this might be considered offensive to anyone, as that is the complete opposite of our intent. Would love your thoughts on this?
Hi fishes. Planning on joining optum as a senior lead/engineering manager. Please share ur inputs on wlb, culture, senior leadership and other factors.

I'm currently looking to join @cmg change management group in their Middle East office as an entry-level consultant.

Does anyone have any viewpoints of the same?
Hi! I'm one of the 2 women on the engineering team of the tech scale-up I work at. I'm used to the masculine environment but I'm starting to notice more and more borderline sexist comments and "jokes" (the kind that are not directly targeted at anyone, but very salacious jokes).
It makes me uncomfortable sometimes, and although I'm far from being uptight, I'm convinced that it's not healthy for our culture. I'd like to share with leadership, how should I approach the topic? Thanks 🙂

What is the point of life I am seriously so bored??? Every day I do my job so I can buy nice things and then stare at my phone all day and then go to sleep. Before you ask me to find my passion, I am too tired.

Hey everyone! I recently graduated this past December and started my current role January 24th. Just this morning I had a recruiter from Meta reach back out to me about a role I applied too last month. Should i schedule an interview with the recruiter? What if it goes well? Would it look bad if I quit my current position to take this role if I end up getting an offer? One reason I would want to switch is because the pay would most likely be a lot higher at Meta then in my current position.

Update from NY first department for bar admittance: “We are working our way through the April candidates, when it is your turn you will receive an email from this address giving information and instructions.”
What should I say/do? On Friday afternoon my boss asked me to join a meeting (on zoom). I didn’t understand a thing, but he would fill me the details later. After the meeting we continue to do other works (seperadly, with other people) and I completely forgot to talk with him about that case. Sunday night I received a message “FYI, you vanished, so I did it myself” with the documents attached. I honestly forgot about it. Yes, he could have talked to me, but was supposed to talk to him either. 😞
HOW do I stop making dumb mistakes. Like I am literally spelling peoples names wrong and getting super complicated waterfalls right. Every major substantive thing is right and oops I forget to change the notice address/the title of the person signing. Or the numbering is wrong. Give me all the tips because I’m done with myself. Ps I’m a 4th year and sick of it 😒
Question for *real* adulty adults on here: I started in big law 3 years ago, but just accepted a job as an investment banker. Over the last 3 years, I re-financed my loans and took out a mortgage through special low-cost programs offered to attorneys at my law firm. Do I need to call my loan servicers and tell them about my career moves? Or can I just keep making payments and no one should worry about it?
Anybody trying to pivot out of law?
I've basically scared the shit out of myself.
As a 46 y/o lawyer, it feels like the whole working world has changed while I've been stuck in a building for the past 14 years.
I'm a glorified paper pusher. I understand legal concepts and make them digestible for lay people. I research shit. I write shit. I argue shit. That's it. I don't fool with excel, power point, etc. I have no need.
And now that I'm waking up from the fog I've been in ....
Any AUSAs or former AUSAs who can talk about the background check process? Do they ask if you’ve EVER tried recreational drugs, or only the past 7-10 years? (Asking for a friend of course.)
Generally, is it harder to take or defend depositions? I started doing deps this year and I find defending deps to be a lot more stressful!
Hi all! I am a lawyer with a decade of global experience (based out of New Zealand and working with counterparts across the world). I started out as a Barrister (trial attorney) and then moved into government with a stint in a startup in between. Recently moved to the USA and trying to get a job while I study the bar. I’m curious if there are others here who migrated to the USA? I’m having a hard time getting anyone to take me & my experience seriously here!

What is the difference between commercial litigation and ID? I have seen firms and job postings treating them as the same because they deal with “contracts.”
I have an interview scheduled for an in house role. Turns out this company may be a client of my firm, although I’ve never done any work for them and the responsible partner is some person in another office that I’ve never met. Is this situation kosher or is there some sort of conflict?
Anyone know of good resume writing services?
Have any of you had to ask your current firm for a conflicts waiver? My new firm is requiring it for a matter where we were co-defendants. I haven’t resigned from my current firm yet, but I’m happy to do it and ask for a waiver. Im just feeling really nervous.
I'm an ID Associate with over 5 years of experience in a major market. Over the last couple of years I have strategically taken on work that would theoretically give me a chance at getting out of this hellhole. Soon, I have a second round/final interview with a boutique firm for a commercial lit/transactional role at a very significant pay increase. It's taken me a long time to work up the nerve to apply for this sort of role, and I'm so close I can taste it, but imposter syndrome is setting in.
