I grew up under the poverty line so my financial literacy is pretty limited when it comes to strategy

Most top consulting firms treat their people well when leaving, and consider alumni as an asset. PwC seems to treat their outgoing staff very differently. This topic ever been discussed by leadership?

PwC What’s the better offer? I’m currently an associate at Mercer in Seattle making 115k with a 10% target, but considering an offer in NYC at PWC as senior associate at 140k with a 15%ish target. Also been at current company for only 9 months. Is it worth it to make that transition so early?
As business analysts is it necessary that we attend our stakeholder’s internal meetings where they discuss and finalize their internal processes such as their internal business rules or we only meet them when they already have those altogether? Or it depends?I do both, and I am supporting one of the applications in that project on how the application is supposed to function and all that but just wondering if that is the standard. Thanks!
For any real estate investors
22 years old and currently focused on using my left over income to invest and pay off my debt. I am set to pay off my college loans by next year and, when I do, I want to look into investing into real estate. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get into/learn more about real estate investing? Or how I can have enough knowledge on the topic to be able to invest wisely when the time comes?
Any books? youtubers? etc. How did you all learn about it?
I feel life itself is a trap. There is no path I really enjoy. It sucks and is hopeless. 😭
Has anyone seen that stat that working moms spend more time on childcare than SAHM in 1965? Random, but that makes me wonder, what did women do all day back then? Just chill with their friends and stuff? If so, I was born in the wrong time.
My company is evangelizing the shit out of “3%” and “Time’s Up”, but they continue to knowingly employ people who have committed sexual harassment/assault in the office.

Ever a good idea to out a lazy supervising attorney? I’m a mid level working for a junior partner that reports to managing partner. Junior partner misses meetings, calls, is always late, misses deadlines, etc. He meets billable requirements by taking easy assignments on large docket but does not actually work the cases until a big deadline comes up, when the case inevitably ends on my desk because I’m the “go-to” for very hard cases. Ever a good idea to put someone whose laziness goes undetected
Anyone have a recommendation for a good headhunter? I am currently a 2nd year associate (many years paralegaling before that) at a mid-sized firm in NY and am looking for a change.
Also, any cons of working with a headhunter?

Nothing is more certain than if your trial judge keeps making bad Dad jokes to the jury and court staff, one side is about to get some terribly wrong rulings.
Externed for a fed judge a couple of years ago and I’m thinking about applying for fed clerkships again. Looking for some advice. Second year associate at firm of 25ish attorneys in the Midwest. Looking to make a move and have an attractive offer from a small firm of 6 attorneys. Better pay and work life balance, but I’m concerned for how a firm that small may impact my career options moving forwards and if other firms or in house options down the line maybe frown on such small firms.
I’m a mid-level associate at a a large law firm. I work in a regulatory practice group that occasionally requires me to work on litigation matters. Unfortunately, I was never really trained on memo writing earlier in my career, and now I’m supervising more junior associates with no idea what I’m doing. I was and am a pretty good writer, but I get bogged down by the importance of citations in the drafting process. Any tips from experienced litigators on how to best to put together initial drafts?
I am an associate at an AM200 firm and was (IMO) very clear prior to accepting this role that I value work-life balance and wanted to try to keep work at night on the weekends to a minimal, but since February, it seems like it’s always something that requires my time as needed disregarding “business hours” or my personal schedule. Thoughts on whether to bring this up or continue to be a team player until I burn out and pay off my student loans?
I am having little success figuring out market rate in my practice area . Hoping some others could weigh in. I’m a senior litigation associate—mostly class action/mass torts (plaintiffs side). Firm has a *very* modest bonus structure that allows for percentage of fees, so base salary is primary compensation. 7 years experience (3 with current firm/practice area). Help!
I just had a witness lie on the stand. It was the plaintiff's wife and she lied about saying her husband couldn't do an activity that he could actually do. Then she doubled down. Any suggestions to remedy this? Plaintiff testifies tomorrow. Thanks!
How does your firm handle evaluations? Do you receive a summary of the comments / input on your performance without identification of which partners said what? Or is feedback attributed to the partner that provided it? I’ve been at firms that handle it both ways, and I prefer the second approach. My current firm uses the first approach because they think partners will be more honest that way.
