What competency group would you be looking into? Also, you should probably consider doing an MDP- I’m not sure they take permanent people straight from the practice office.
My bad, I assumed you already worked for Deloitte, but that may not have been a good assumption on my part. MDP is the manager development program- it’s a 2 year rotation in WNT. You might have to “prove” yourself in the practice office before applying- but if you are highly rated - shouldn’t be an issue. For input on hours, etc. I would reach out to one of the current MDPs before you apply.
WNT passthroughs were looking for managers recently
Hard to get a permanent slot unless you’re an attorney. The hours are pretty high because they don’t generate revenue so their charge hour goals are about 400 more than your standard tax group. Definitely gets you smarter though and opens new doors
Masters in tax. Auto correct...
D1, passthrough. I want to try rotation first.
What is MDP?
Was at DT for years. You need to be a manager in practice office first. Rare to hire seniors at WNT, if ever. Maybe if you are Ivy League
There are a lot of offices that seem to discourage MDPs because they generally lose one of their high performers. That was my experience before I left anyway. Couldn’t get local support so couldn’t ever get into the rotation. Part of why I left
Thank you for your insights, Deloitte 1! I was looking at 3 months rotation if there is one.
Deloitte 3, I don’t think I can qualify for manager with 3 years of experience at B4. I hope I can do rotation as a senior. If that’s not the case, then I’ll look for something else.
Rotations are not typically 3 months. - too short to really do anything. Typically 1-2 years
It would be great if I could get in. 2 years make lots of sense.
Deloitte 4, is it feasible to get on rotation if I’m not a lawyer? Not sure if I’m going to pursue law degree, but it something I had in mind in the past.
