any interesting books that were fun to read (in the finance space, or tangential?)

ideally something you think not enough people have read?

I personally enjoyed “the black swan” by Nassim Taleb. It’s relatively popular , but the message is pertinent and thought provoking.

Red Notice by Bill Browder. It’s not a self help, more like a novel but it’s nonfiction and in the financial space. Very good read

The Bonfire of the vanities is kind of a classic .. and Monkey Business: swinging your way through wall Street, was hilarious.

The Investor's Manifesto by William J. Bernstein is totally underrated. I had also finished reading The Little Book of Behavioural Investing by James Montier just over the weekend since it's only a 200 page book.

Nice! I'm here for the recommendations. Thanks for posting this question, OP :)

Any particular segment of sales good for ex-finance? Currently 3 years in at fortune 100 bank on business development side (on commercial loan originations team but no commission/targets at the associate level, basically do credit analysis and build pitch books for the producers) This role has been great as I have gotten both analytical experience and tasted sales experience (I say taste bc I’m not the producer) but would potentially like to transition to a sales role that is less analytical
