England & Wales: How bad does it look to leave your firm on qualification? It seems to be more common nowadays, but feels like there’s still a stigma. (I’m a trainee solicitor qualifying in Sept. Work at a London city firm).

I’ve been a project manager for 7 years at the same company. It is small and I report to the Senior VP. I have not received annual evaluations and have had to fight for every increase in salary I’ve received. I recently expressed to my VP that I am interested in taking on new responsibilities and delegating some tasks where I feel I should no longer be involved. I’m looking for a title promotion as well as a pay increase. I’m currently at 86K. Any advice? I feel like my boss is not receptive.

How do I get a job as a software architect?

When I talk to recruiters, they keep telling me stuff like "mostly companies like to promote from within for architects". Is this actually true, or are they just lying to me because they don't have reqs for architects?

I got strung along at my last job trying to get the position for years. It's not the best example of workplace, but I don't want it to happen again.

How do referrals work?
If I get a referral from someone and I apply, then can I still reach out to a recruiter on LinkedIn expressing interest in the role? And do I let them know that I already applied? The salary is slightly more than what I'm on currently as a data scientist, but only slightly. I'm struggling to find any data points corresponding to what the expected pay range should be for this role to justify back up any further negotiations however. Not sure how to proceed.

Hi ppl. got mail last week frm google HR that she is the 1st contact point in hiring process. She mentioned to submit brief questionnaire & there they asked to fill 6 available dates like from 1 to 6 wid available date and time. Firstly i just submitted like "from 27dec22 to 15jan23 - 7am to 12pm PST". How easy is it to move up market from LMM as a VP?

From the outside, I always thought of PE firms to be well-oiled machines where everyone is working hard but with a clear purpose. Now starting at an LMM as a senior associate I feel kind of lost. It’s chaos - every person above me wants something else and there are constant discussions, bickering and politics being played. Is this representative of other (LMM?) PE firms, or did I get unlucky? It feels like a tech startup lol.

Anyone have tips or recommended resources for a final round VC interview? What are some typical questions and should you approach it more casually or formally? I think it’ll be multiple conversations with senior people within the firm. Would love to connect if anyone is willing!
