Deloitte Moms, I remember seeing in some other bowl that Deloitte gives 200 dollars gift card or vantage points for new moms. I am having trouble finding the information in DeloitteNet or TOD. Are we still getting it or was it a past promotion kind of thing? Appreciate any guidance on this.
A colleague shared with me the presentation they have prepared for their promotion case. I worked with them on multiple projects during the year and I can clearly see that some of the claims on the deck are wild exaggeration or lies. For example, managed changes in scope for Project X including contract changes. Plot twist: there never was a change of scope for Project X and the contract is exactly the same. How can people be so dishonest? How far can you go before truth catching up?
I live in a HCOL city and am still not being paid enough to save/live . I have all of the tools/ skill sets to leave consulting and go into big tech . Before going out to market myself and get a new job should I even ask D for a raise ? I’m frustrated because I’m adding a lot of value to my current engagements and I think I’d have a good business case for a raise. On a side note I see people leaving left and right here which is not a good sign!

Question— do you share your comp with close friends? Me and my roommate have been friends forever and while I don’t really share my specific pay, Im not sure if I should share it with her. When she got promoted she told me her comp tho I didn’t ask. Today I found out I was promoted (🎉) and left that part out. She asked me if I knew what my raise would be and I just told her the % but not the actual amount. Is that unnecessarily secretive? We’re in diff industries too.

I switched from audit to consulting, and I thought I’d enjoy my job since I’m no longer ticking the box.. doing something that’s more challenging (what people said lol) .. helping the client etc etc but honestly the job seems pretty much the same. I still work on meaningless BS stuff. Is it because I’m not in ‘real’ (strategy) consulting? I do process improvement / CFO advisory. Or are all corporate jobs pretty much the same other than the pay / wlb (which is def. better)

Got a job offer at Deloitte for manager level. Looking for a summary of benefits. I know 401k match but is there a waiting period, do you have something like pwc’s wealth builder. What is parental leave? What is the phone benefit? (Pwc subsidizes phone and pays plan). Health insurance I assume is crap but who is it through? Any random benefits that stick out to you that other firms might not have?

Advice on how to encourage more from a team member that does the bare minimum? They often aren’t very responsive online and a simple task will go on for days with little improvement. This is an individual I’m managing from another consulting firm, so the dynamic is different than your typical team.. so I’m not totally sure if it’s even in my wheelhouse to reprimand when it’s warranted. For weeks now I’ve been picking up the slack. My personality is not to be a hard-ass Manager. Help!
I have two career paths I'm aiming for at the moment, strategy consulting or finance/strategy at a CPG. My end goal has always been to exit to CPG. If I dont land in strategy consulting should I consider tech consulting?
