Tax season, and I just noticed I have a household income of $700K. Guess how much we've saved? $0!!! $300K goes to tax - thanks to CA $60K goes to housing mortage, HOA, and tax $15K goes to travel & vacation $10K goes to BTS... Where did the rest of money go? NO IDEA... Looks like just dining and grocery stuff. I don't have even have kids, didn't buy any luxury brands last year.

Will I ever be able to afford a home in SF? I made the terrible career decision of being born in 1997, and it seems just insurmountable to accumulate enough wealth (saving ~100k/year) as the boomers who’ve just sat on properties.

Do you cringe when you read the emails your junior sends to a client, or is it just me?

Bonus talk today -$500 raise, $150 bonus I cannot make this shit up. Started in late July And was told by the recruiter before I signed paperwork that I should expect a min of 3.5% raise and 2K bonus

FRIDAY FISHBOWL POLL: what would yall think about being super mega ambitious through your late 30s, build solid wealth and invest, then just get an entry level/individual contributor job to make some disposable income and coast hard into the sunset? Has anyone carved their life out in this type of path?

Not to brag, but just crossed 200k annual comp with my raise and bonus this year. Still living in NYC, paying 2k a month in MBA loans, and 1k to support patents, but now feel a little more secure. 😀

Any tips on what to do at team events if I don't drink? I don't want to come across as boring and miss out on networking.
