I'm 6 months pregnant right now and trying to work out the right balance. Still flying but trying to do T-T travel rather than M-T which makes a big difference. It's exhausting though. Keep reminding myself that my priority right now needs to be my health and my baby...

We work with pregnant women in our group to ramp them down when they are 3 months pregnant or so. We try to take all of their internal work off their plate and staff them on lower intensity projects with flexible travel schedules. My group has a lot of strong female leaders so it's one of those things that we are pushed to think about. (I'm a male and I appreciate how we work with our pregnant female staff.)

It's still early days for me so struggling with first trimester symptoms. It's helpful to hear from other women who have been/are going through this, so thank you for sharing your experiences!

Take one day at a time. Everyone is different. And when it gets too tough... Yes, you pull the pregnancy card. I said doctor said no more flying after 6 months because it got too much for me. It was either fly and sleep when I arrived or skip flying and work 10 hours from home. It was best for everyone that I didn't travel anymore. Worked up until due date because of it.

I ended up ramping down on a chargeable project by month 7 and did BD for the rest. Still was stressful, but not so bad.

I am 7 months pregnant right now; and have been mostly working from home this past month. Had a conversation with the client and told him that I need to work from home and can come in may be once or twice a week. Client is a little annoyed but going to push it as far as I can. It is especially hard this time of the year because of roundtables, contract renewals etc.. Ultimately working from home helps exhaustion and you can continue to work better.

6 weeks here. I'm using the 'What to Expect' app and it's been a great source of information. Is there a better one I should be using? Also, when will the unending need to eat stop?? It's exhausting and time consuming spending all this time cooking, eating, and cleaning up!

I'm using the Ovia app and I like it so far - will download "What to Expect" and check that out. My main complaint is the exhaustion, I could spend a whole day sleeping and still be tired! And also hungry all the time, though I have no desire to eat. I'm hoping this gets better in the 2nd trimester.

Downloaded Ovia. Much more modern looking with more functionality. Thanks for the tip!

@PwC2 that's great to hear! My practice has very few mothers of young kids so we are still trying to work out how to make it work. Our leader is also a strong female but doesn't have kids and has clearly put her career first. She is trying to be supportive but still asks me odd questions like "was my baby planned?" (Yep I'm 36 and was trying for awhile) and "how long have I been with my partner"

Yes! Hungry all the time with no appetite. What a strange combination. I'm constantly worried I'm not giving my baby/body enough nutrition because of this. How are you dealing with it?

Moms from NY: how many weeks post partum were you on short term disability?
I recently had a call with the leave team at my firm and was surprised to hear that typically STD after birth is 6-8 weeks, depending on the type of birth.

My question is: anyone here returned to work before 6 weeks? Asking because I want to recuperate for 2 weeks after birth, then go back to work and use the remaining maternity weeks later in a year. I wonder if this will be allowed. The Leave team person made it soun

Looking for some opinions..

Those of that baptized your kids, how did you go about choosing godparents? Did you choose primarily close friends or do family? Any restrictions? Are grandparents accepted? We are eastern Orthodox, and I don't really know many other eastern Orthodox people so my mother would like to do it. My husband thinks it's really weird and is very strongly opposed. He is a self proclaimed atheist so I don't understand why the choice matters at all.

When you’re flying for a client. When do you leave to the airport? As I understand it, travel time is billable from when I leave my house until I check into the hotel. But I don’t want to leave to the airport and charge the client for waiting for the flight but I don’t want to leave too late and miss my flight either.

I just got an offer for a senior software developer role at $150k starting. It is a small start up with 28 people in the team and AI driven. My recent salary was $118 so it is quite a jump for me and I really liked the VP I spoke to. Very somber and smart guy.
However, I have several other interviews coming up ranging from big corporate to app companies. Shall I decline the current offer to explore more or accept it but push my start day to later so I could stillbdo the other interviews?
