Where in Europe are you going and for how long
Europe is a big place. Pretty diverse. Virtually every country speaks different language(s), has their own history, cuisine and culture.
Where are you going exactly?
France (North/South) and Netherlands (mostly Amsterdam) for 2 weeks
Even if you don't speak French, look up a few phrases. The French are worse than Americans when it comes to their anger for people not trying to speak French. But, many people do speak English they will just appreciate your effort.
Try everything. Walk into a coffee shop early in the morning and ask for things to do. It’s early enough they have time to chat. If you planned most of your activities, leave a day open for anything new you want to do. Oh and try everything!
Yea. This is good advice; go to a local place where they make espresso and ask them where they like to go for lunch and dinner. What they like to see and then walk there. As the people at lunch the same question then walk where they recommend. Great way to see a city like a local
