Lawyer but not employment lawyer: employment at will rules the day on this one I think. Unless you have an employment contract that outlines your pay and benefits (you won’t unless you’re very senior) anything goes.

Thank you for doing God's work.

*not an employment attorney*. Employers can mandate the Covid vaccine here as a condition of employment. It sounds like from your post they just want you to complete a survey? It’s not even a condition of your employment, just for certain incentives

like

Would this qualify an employee discrimination?

funny

No.

There is no issue with this. A federal court I think upheld a that a Texas hospital was within their rights to fire employees who refused the vaccine. At will employment 🤷‍♂️. Also "vaccination status" is not a protected class.

like

No problem with that. Don’t even need to be an employment lawyer for that. Obviously not a legal advice.

Long post alert. Also, confusing post alert haha. So, I'm going to be divorced in the next few months and have 2 kids who'll be with me. Ever since this situation has been finalized, I'm becoming very conscious of our spend & have been tight about it. Covid has helped. But I noticed that even my grocery store bills are pretty high...like a single run to Meijer is $125+. Costco is like $200 or so. We've always had fresh fruits, nuts liberally used in our house. Seeking immigration / travel advise. I know we are not lawyers but any experiences / stories would be helpful. Can I enter the US when I have H1B change of employer petition approved but employed with my current company and serving notice period? Which company’s I-797 form do I show immigration? Do I tell them about switching jobs, etc.? My new company lawyers are not providing clear guidance on this and suggesting against travel due to COVID in general. Thank you.

Want to buy property in / near NYC. I know with covid prices in the city (I’m assuming the 5 boroughs) went down, while prices outside of the city went up. Is that enough of a move in the market to make it worth it to buy in the city (and not in Long Island for example)?

Not to start a political debate… I am not anti vaccine but have not wanted to get the COVID vaccine. I think I will be getting the vaccine tomorrow. Anyone else feel conflicted who originally really did not want to get it, but was kind of feeling forced to get it?

I need to travel to India urgently for personal reasons. I have a US citizenship and valid OCI and wondering if any issues due to COVID. Thinking of taking the flight from Newark to Mumbai to avoid exposure - does anyone know what it means once I land there (final destination Bombay). And can I come back in 2 weeks or will I have to stay longer due to quarantine?

Moms, I have a 2 year old and a 3 month old. Everyone on my family is vaccinated. What are safe activities to do with these kiddos in the midst of all this covid variant environment. I thought about the pumpkin patch, hiking, the park, and walks as long as we distance from others. I just get nervous about catching colds or a breakthrough covid infection. I’m not paranoid, just risk averse. The whole family got the TSV bug a month ago, and it was miserable. Just trying to be practical, but not a

I am a 7th year in a new role. My on boarding has been spotty due to workload/covid and I’ve made peace with the fact that I’m going to have to learn my new role independently and sink or swim. In the meantime, how do I know if my performance is acceptable when my supervising partner has no time for me, is always annoyed at everyone, and is a generally snippy? I know I shouldn’t rely so much on supervisor feedback, but I had a horrible blindsiding experience early in my career...
