Any layoffs in big4?

Recruiters - should I even bother sending out resumes atm given the state of the world? Fearful of layoffs. I’m assuming all hiring is at a standstill

How bad do you have to mess up to get fired? Any stories here, personal experience or witness someone else? I’m asking for a friend (really, I’m worried for him). He is a 1st year analyst at big 4.

Hi all - my partner was laid off in April and still having a difficult time finding work in the DC area. Thanks to your advice earlier in the year, he’s back in school to finish his bachelors in IS Management + taking the NET+ cert exam soon. Will it be hard for him to find a job until he gets his degree or will the cert help with an entry level job to tie him over? For reference he’s had 1 full-time role with a tech company in acct mgt. and (2) IT support internships. Thanks in advance!

How do you feel about job stability for newly hired folks in firms that went on huge hiring sprees with big offers and more leniency on "target" metrics than typical recruiting? Will there be a point where the huge influx of new consultants exceeds new work brought in and a bunch of companies end up having to do layoffs? Or am I being paranoid?

I haven't made a move yet, but it's something I've been thinking about and it worries me.

What are the most stable companies/industries during this recession and pandemic 👀 Or which consulting firm has the least risk of having massive layoffs?

I’m currently recruiting for a high level leadership role (FL) and initially doing phone screens before sending candidates to interview with a chief officer. I am trying to gauge EQ and communication styles and asking candidates to “tell me about a time when” or “can you give me an example of” things they should have done by this point in their career. A lot of times candidates don’t provide examples but instead speak in hypotheticals or tell me their philosophy about the item in question. I have been noting that they failed to provide an example or that they provide a generic response but would love to know how others handle this? Do you pushback and ask again for a specific example? Or let it go and note it?
