Duck Creek has a remote-first policy and has lots of open roles. It’s a great growing company.

like

Allstate, Farmers, Progressive, USAA, Grange, and many more if you’re in workers comp. I’d highly recommend checking google and the other major job websites. It appears almost every company has realized restricting their pool of employees to a single area is a bad idea.

USAA does have some fully remote roles however many roles today are moving to a hybrid schedule.

Allstate for sure. I've been hiring remote for my agency for over a year. There are tons of remote jobs on Indeed for almost every carrier. Filter by "remote" but don't put your city or state in the 2nd filter. That should give you countrywide remote jobs.

Don't ignore the "skills" assessments (customer service, sales, organization etc). They take 10 minute BUT once you take them, you're done and your same assessment can but used for every job post from then on that requests that kind.

Decide if you're open to a carrier's corporate jobs, individual agencies or both. Both have pros and cons. Agencies will typically have the agency name under their carrier.

Update your resume weekly, even if you're just going in and saving it without changes. Employers can filter by how recently they have been updated and are more drawn to those because it shows the candidates are actively looking.

Feel free to AMA or check out my job posting to see what an agency remote job posting looks like.

Most, if not all, of the health insurance companies are hiring remote employees still…and all are Fortune 100, and in a relatively safe industry.

Here are a couple that are almost always hiring and typically offer remote opportunities. Not all of their opportunities are remote but they do have a quite a few opportunities that are remote.

Aetna CVS Fortune 4
Centene Fortune 26
Cigna Fortune 12
Elevance Health (Anthem) Fortune 20
Humana Fortune 40
Optum Fortune 5
UnitedHealth Care Fortune 5
UnitedHealth Group Fortune 5

Reliance Standard does hybrid and a lot of WFH during training. I noticed job postings for The Standard mentioning full remote as well

Molina positions are all remote

Penn Mutual is hybrid so you can work 100% remote if you want and they are always hiring.

We are always looking to hire for surety producers. If you know what that is, then you're likely qualified. Parrot Surety Services is 100% remote. Email your resume to me at adam@parrotsuretyservices.com 🦜

Vermont Mutual Insurance Group has become more liberal about remote options. They are an excellent company for folks that want to continue with a career in Insurance.

Hi I’ve posted before but just to reiterate since I’m pretty much stuck in the unemployment cycle, I am a former News Reporter looking to transition into PR. Left big four as a first year manager for a controller role with a smaller audit client. When I left I had no idea what my long term goal was or where I wanted to end up. Half a year into the new gig and realize it’s not what I want to do. I don’t think I realized the pros of a manager role for a large company at the time, or even a service line change within big four. My daily tasks are repetitive and not challenging and there’s more small stuff to deal with. What should my next move be?

If anyone has dealt with this situation, I'm curious what you've done or seen.
If a company hired you into a certain role and responsibility, and then years later hired someone else to handle the exact same tasks, in a higher level position you were denied, and failed to find you new responsibilities... Would you work with the same leadership team to redefine your role? Or pack up?

Do any carriers in Europe pay salaries equal to their American counterparts? I’ve found that the salary for my role is pretty much halved across the Atlantic.

I know that my company, Chubb, does and from time to time they have rotational programs where not only do you maintain your US salary but you also get COLA and a housing allowance, unfortunately nothing right now nor permanent.

Another option would be insurance companies that pay your American salary while working abroad.

Any leads?
