Has anyone made it into the industry of data science and find that the work is really not for them? Finding the data work to be a bit too hands on and technical for my likings. I can do the work adequately, but just not finding it as pleasurable as I’d initially thought

I wish to join HSBC, for learning, culture and scope of pivoting to Consultancy and Big MNC later.

Next would be Billdesk, I believe the hands on experience for payments will be much rich.

3 years ago was recruited away from D to a PE portfolio company to run M&A and other strategy work. Things have gone well and company is prepping for exit. Thinking about going back to consulting after exit: what options are out there? I left D as an M and would only consider returning as “senior” SM or higher. Who else is hiring at higher levels in M&A? What does starting comp look like for SM (or equivalent) role?

Hey, seeking some help.

I've been asked to walk through a financial model I built as part of case study round for an Infrastructure investor. The model works fine for the inputs they provided but would get stuck when any input in the model is changed and I'm afraid the interviewer has figured that already and will specifically ask what's wrong.

I am unable to find any bugs with the code or why the model wouldn't work. How do I address it and not sound like a complete dumbass to them?!

Would you take EY-P TSE Director for 200k base and likely 10% bonus or A&M PEPI MAS Manager for 150k base but potentially 100% bonus?

How hard is it to switch from IT m&a to business m&a (i.e., what financial modeling skills do you need? Is it easy to pick up from YouTube?)

What’s next M&A option for a person in financial due diligence manager level ?

I like DD work more than the boring project/IMO/SMO work but cannot put up with working weekends given the salary (I came from IB where you are actually paid for this time).

Open to thoughts - what other consulting firms or groups have interesting work and higher pay, but keep weekends free? Is it worth it to stay if I am a strong performer on DDs? MBA?
