Any males here get an MBA from an M7 university? If so, would you mind sharing your GMAT score? I know it's just one data point in an overall story, but I'm trying to get reference points from peers.

I'm gonna to slightly disagree with Bain1 here, having been on the recruiting side for 2 years now, most M7 schools would like a minimum 730, and for everything not in your favor, low GPA, weak essays/recs, whatever, GMAT points help. That's in general for most M7. Certain programs have weird X-factors sometimes though that no amount of GMAT points can replace

3.6 is not low. And worry about the things you can change or massage, like your story, rather than things etched in stone from the past. Like, someone with a 3.9 and a 680 is clearly a hard worker, while a 2.8 and 770 is either coasting on natural ability or matured a ton since college. Everyone in the middle is just kinda a yeah, he/she can handle the 'rigors' of b school, but how do they fit into the class and will they be a brand ambassador (either through achievement or effort) in the future?

Because ad coms look at females more favorably and females' average gmat score may not mean the same for males average gmat.

like

Don't get why it needs to be males

like

I got a 780. Did a sponsored MBA at GSB. White male.

like

750. 2.7 undergrad GPA. Sponsored M7 complete. It's not all about the stats.

like

OP your hypothesis that you're competing against a cohort is exactly correct. Remember that b schools generally admit a class, not a person, so it's important to figure out your 'hook' and role in your class beyond just stats. For a data point, I'm a white male with a 760 - got into one of the four M7 schools I applied to.

like

For context, I'm a male, and I've heard that most of the time in M7 you are competing with others within your sub-group to get admitted - such as gender or ethnicity. I didn't want to get too granular, but I felt that getting male GMAT scores may be more relevant for my references points.

Booth with 50% scholarship. 760. 3.3 GPA. White male from the US

C1 - 3.6 is not low especially for engineering

3.5 is average, but it's the one thing you absolutely can't change, so don't worry about it. Undergrad gpa is less relevant the more work you have. I think the only time it comes into play is if exceptionally high or low, especially in comparison to other stats.

like

You might as well ask for males of the same race to get a more accurate benchmark

like

790. Asian Male.

like

750, a couple of decades ago. It was about 30 points above the average admitted to chicago gsb (Booth of course). No name undergrad but summa gpa.

I took the GRE and am headed to M7. Explore the option if you have a solid GPA.

like

Appplying next year but I have a 3.6gpa and 730 GMAT as a white male. Hoping it's enough

like

Applying this year, hoping that a 3.8 engineering gpa and a 710 gets me there.

like

750, 3.95, got in to 3/5 M7 i applied to (not HBS or Wharton) and ended up at Kellogg w/ 75% scholarship. Half Asian male (think that is essentially = white male when it comes to admissions)

Hi 🐠, need some advice. Was told by my manager that time doing research (for info related to my client) is not client billable and has to be charged to the overhead code. This strikes me as fundamentally wrong, esp bc this is a flat rate project so the hours will just affect my utilization / internal metrics, not how much the client is billed. I asked for a non-billable code that counts towards utilization but was told my utilization is fine even though I’d be billing <40hrs & to use OH code
