I worked in both and I would say that I strongly prefer private practice. Less red tape and more autonomy over my schedule and the kind of patients I want to see
I hear that the big systems micromanage. Private practices are going away sadly. What’s your speciality, if you don’t mind me asking?
I am in private practice. Sometimes I make less than my staff, but I am in charge of my schedule and could never imagine working in a system where non-doctors were in charge of how a doctor practices.
I couldn’t agree with you more. I had a FM physician who was in the same boat. He was seeing the patients but never felt like he was making enough. You should drop me a chat and we can talk more about reimbursement sometime.
I work in a healthcase system for a major hospital. I like it, but would probably want to transition to private practice once I turn 45-50.
I’ve had a few MDs come to me because they’re tired of the hustle and bustle of being part of the system. They say it’s good pay but they hate being micromanaged. Have you ever worked Private practice before?
I know some people you do and some who don’t. Varies from person to person
