Go federal - you'll be home almost everyday by 6
Traveling mon - thu really sucks. Luckily, my kids are well taken care of while I'm gone but still trying to find ways to work more remotely...
I'm not a mom, but all my mom Consultant friends have one of the following situations; 1. Older kids and a SO with a flexible schedule or 2. SO who is F/T WFH. I also think it is up to us as female practitioners to push mgmt every day to live up to the firm's commitment to F&P. We will soon be going to 2-3-5 weeks on my project b/c I directly asked the Partner for it, now the whole project gets it! Ask for what you need to make work work for you!!

Soon to be mom and no idea how I'm going to cope with returning to the consulting life. A PT arrangement sounds ideal but probably not realistic :-/
Nope.
B1 is spot on. Federal is usually local and normal hours
My boss does flex time and works three days a week
PWC, does she really just work 3 days though? Though consulting sometimes touts PT opportunities, I've rarely seen people not go overboard.
