Any of you manage to write the CFA while working full time? Worth it (for exit opps)?

Cfa not worth it at all

Yeah I think the CFA is becoming less relevant these days and won't help that much , esp. if you have an MBA from a decent school. I would spend that time studying more relevant tech skills.

like

MFA, best of both worlds.

like

It feels like an MBA it such an easier option, even though it costs a lot more

Depends on what you want long term. It's manageable while working. Keep in mind I'm not planning on b school.

CFA relevant in IM only

Recruiter reached out a few weeks ago about an ER role. I don’t have the finance background but want to pivot. I had a first round interview that I thought I bombed but I got a second. Did a stock pitch that was fairly good, didn’t know all the technical questions tho. I followed up day of, and recruiter asked to have a quick chat next day. She asks me about salary & availability to start and says she’ll try and get an update from the team. I haven’t heard & im wondering if I got rejected

How does one get into underwriting in the western MA area? I have an associates degree in business and 5 years of insurance experience. Thanks in advance!

Do any carriers in Europe pay salaries equal to their American counterparts? I’ve found that the salary for my role is pretty much halved across the Atlantic.

I know that my company, Chubb, does and from time to time they have rotational programs where not only do you maintain your US salary but you also get COLA and a housing allowance, unfortunately nothing right now nor permanent.

Another option would be insurance companies that pay your American salary while working abroad.

Any leads?

So as a 30ish yo with a government/PE/tech background and CIPM/CIPP… I’m finding privacy work is just much easier and interesting than other kinds, but still pays plenty well.

Is it too late/inadvisable to go to law school to specifically aim for privacy work?

I just find some firms are unwilling to entertain the idea that anyone but a lawyer has anything relevant to contribute in this space…

If you are starting as an Audit Associate some time from now with Deloitte or any of the big 4, do they expect you to have passed/completed all 4 parts by the time you start? Received the Becker Reimbursement email from the recruiter not too long ago but have yet to start. I’ve seen plenty of people get to Senior at a big 4 firm without the CPA so I am a bit confused in that aspect. Any helpful feedback will be very much appreciated.

Been since May 23rd that I’ve completed my background check. Called the 3rd party company and they said the background check has been sent to the hiring company for review as of last Friday. Should I wait another day before following up with my recruiter about the status of the background check? I don’t suspect there to be any crazy thing, but I’m just anxious. I’ve just never had a background check take at or over a week. Advice?

Hi Fishes,
I had given interview for network security architect position in Feb last week. And as per recruiter, I got selected for that role. I have been asked to share the documents on March 1st. I did a few followup for the offer letter update and they asked me 2 wait for 2-3 weeks. And now they are saying position has gone on hold after I did another followup.
Could it be because of expected salary ?
