A1, that’s very awesome that your company covers. Mine doesn’t unless I have medical condition that cause infertility.
SD1, I’m so happy I found my current dr, not that I’m done with the treatment, but so far, he’s been great! I had two consultations with two different doctors, it does make a different!! Although it’s very expensive keep going to consultations. But First one was awful! And kept wanting me to do more and more tests and told me my insurance covers when it doesn’t! Thank goodness I know my coverage, otherwise I would thought it’s covered!
I am about to do my first shot tonight, extremely nervous and scared. But it’s a relief that I hear some good stories from you! Thank you!! And OP, good luck on your research! Keep us posted! We all need some support when it comes to such sensitive matters !

I’m starting egg freezing, part of the ivf process. Starting injection tomorrow. Extremely nervous
My middle is an IVF baby. We had to do two cycles. First I would say do your research. Understand what your doctor is talking about. There is a website called Inspire, I found it super helpful. Even if you don’t post just reading can give you so much knowledge. Second, I found it very helpful to have a backup plan and a backup plan to the backup. My insurance was capped at $20k so when the 1st cycle didn’t work I had to figure out that we could buy our own insurance and get 3 more cycles. Then I would create a schedule based to maximize the number of cycles I could squeeze in. Basically when the 1st cycle failed and I had no plan B I was devastated. So with the second cycle, I figured out what we do if that cycle failed. Having another plan have me the courage to keep going.
A2 - it depends where you live. I’m in Illinois and unless a company is self funded they have to provide 4 rounds (I’d have to double check that number it’s been a while). So once I used my 20k with Accenture I just bough BCBSIL. My deductible was obv. higher as was the max oop and premium but based on the cost analysis I did was still cheaper than just paying oop. This site has good information

A2 - I had to completely switch. The insurance was the same BCBSIL PPO so dr were the same etc. it just cost more but still less than IVF
I will look into this. Thanks for the heads up!
I did 4 cycles for my 1st. Did 2 more trying for 2nd and we are now moving on to egg donor. The biggest piece of advice is choose a highly qualified doctor. The 1st place I went was most convenient. The next place was the absolute best and we got our miracle baby. Check their stats and read all the blogs and reviews. The best places are well known. Also, start your supplement cocktail ASAP. Google those words - it will come up. Also.. ask lots of questions, research protocols and talk about it with your doc. My most successful we used HGH which was not initially recommended by the doc until I asked. Finally... unless you have an easier case understand that it might take at least two rounds. The first one is usually where your doc figures out how you respond to meds so they can adjust. Good luck!!
To Sr. Director point they all have to post to the cdc albeit the data is a couple years old...

KPMG good luck on your first shot!
A1- what is this additional insurance you bought that paid for 3 more rounds?
A2 thanks for sharing. My state is on the list. Did you buy secondary or switch to the exchange? I have used my ACN benes already.
A1 - had no idea this existed. Now looking to see how I can switch companies mid cycle... even if it means starting my own. Thank you for this!!
