Bschool is not really a thing in Germany tbh. As most people finish with a masters degree, nobody cares about an MBA (neither industry nor consulting).
Not in Germany now, but I did do my graduate business studies there

Yep
Kinda ;)
Mostly you would need to know German for IB, but heard of cases where English speakers got into IB but don't know the specifics
Not from Germany, but currently in process of applying to the top 5 German business schools (check out MBA Alliance Germany) and have a network of friends living there. So far, in speaking to recent alums, I don’t sense that many end up in IB, but it also just doesn’t seem like a country that it is big on this sector compared to say Britain or Switzerland. Also, everyone I’ve spoken seem to indicate that the job opportunities seem to require little knowledge of German (A2) or being nearly fluent (C1-C2), and not much in between. Can share more as I continue through the application process. One huge advantage so far is average cost of an MBA, which is like 38K euros at one of the top 5 German schools versus $180k in the USA.
Right now Mannheim and Frankfurt, given their earlier deadlines, but eventually all. Not pursing IB here though. @KPMG1, I agree about the point about MBA->IB pathway (or lack thereof) and none of the schools really “advertise” in that regard compared to US MBA programs. I think for folks like myself (non-EU citizens) the MBA really is the best foot in the door to working in Germany.
Interested in hearing about B school there as well
From Germany here
WHU, forget about the rest
Hey re. German language, I’ve been here and am “semi fluent” in a client facing role. Don’t be discouraged. I learned it here - quickly as an American citizen. It’s not hard if you don’t focus on all the specifics of the grammar but rather focus on speaking and understanding.
What about the careers in IB?
Oh sorry let's also touch on the following:
If Goldman and jp Morgan are sharks, UniCredit and CoBa are... goldfish. Yeah technically its IB but it's also meh as hell. Don't know anyone who was at CoBa who enjoyed the culture.
You have to live in FFM for most.
And as notyourfathersbroker and most other finmeme accounts will remind you, Deutsche isn't great. The news makes it sound more like they're shitting the bed.
So yeah WHU is your best bet. 👍 viel Spaß.
