I figured out my interviewers email addresses based on the recruiters. I sent them a very nice thank you email. Is it bad that I emailed them when I wasn’t given their email addresses?

Friend of mine was supposed to receive an offer (told verbally) from Deloitte and then just found out they are pausing on hiring the role. How common is that? Seems wildly unprofessional that none of the partners called and instead it was the recruiter conveying that news. At McKinsey, if that happened, the head of the practice or the office would personally make the phone call at the very least.

I will join Deloitte - State & Local and Higher Ed next month. Any comments on this group ? 😊. I heard so many people discuss about so much longer working hours than normal including weekend.

Hi there, I had accepted an offer and presently background investigation is in progress. It is stuck at education verification outside US. Usually how long does it take? The other pending item is employment verification that I requested after resignation. How safe is it to resign with these two pending items? Can current employment verification fail? Nervous here as I jumping jobs after a long time!!

Anybody else feel like they’re losing touch with their industry specialty? I had 8 YOE in industry before joining D as a SC. I was recruited by a group of PPMDs who wanted to build a practice in my niche field. For the first year it was good, but the last 9 months we haven’t had any work in my field and I’m being forced into PMO work to meet metrics. I feel like I’m drifting further and further from current developments in my specialty as I took away doing admin work I did when I was 22.

How soon did you get staffed on a client project after joining? I am in strategy and analytics group, haven’t joined yet but heard from others in the same group finding it difficult to get staffed.
