Yupp. Wuhan has a level 4 bio-medical research facility and the way they’re reacting is more than the flu. Plus look how contagious it is on that Japanese ship. Weird a lot of people outside aren’t getting it though

likefunny

Flu has a range of death rates. The larger data sets outside of wuhan are showing lower death rates than those in Wuhan (2.18% China broadly vs 4.06% in wuhan.) Which in turn makes you wonder if sub standard medical care and a general disregard for human life in China is exacerbating death rate in China. The most strongly correlated factor for death was age, old people and especially very old people were most likely to die.

The WHO is putting the value right around 2 percent, which is high for the flu, which averages about 1 percent, but not outside of the standard deviation for all types of the flu.

Also. The flu is comically contagious. That’s how we get 10 percent or more of Americans to get it in just a few months every year.

Which means it boils down to a risk vs likelihood analysis. Sure COVID19 is more likely to kill you if you catch it (if you’re old) but you are far FAR more likely to get the normal flu. It’s all a matter of perspective and right now It feels like your risk to likelihood meter is skewing the wrong direction

Lol if we are talking about conspiracy theories, I think it was released on purpose by the Chinese government so their citizens will feel isolated aboard and hence seek out other Chinese citizens for support, effectively making their propaganda machine much more effective.

likefunnysmart

It’s scary how many intelligent people, such as the consultants in this bowl, believe in conspiracy theories and fall for fake news like this crap. God help us in November.

McKinsey helped consult on the bio weapon and is trying to cover their tracks with these comments!

Yet further proof that fake news is rampant.

I don’t think it’s a bio weapon but those who think China isn’t suppressing the numbers are out to lunch. China has every reason to cover this up and the global economic effects will be dire if the issue is not resolved soon

Except for the case with Trump, always divide by 7-8

Never forget: Communist governments are ELITE at information suppression, they’ve 100% been suppressing the statistics which whether intentional or not is malicious. The global public has a right to know.

Coronavirus originated in bats and researchers believe that a snake ate a bat and then someone who bought a live snake from the Wuhan seafood market didn’t cook the snake properly. It’s similar to pneumonia, not a very effective bio-weapon

Looks like it. The CDC also just happened to run a pandemic scenario recently based on a similar bug, but only out of South America.

Regardless nothing is common folks can do other than pray, get good sleep (I know this is tough), eat healthy, and practice good hygiene.

I have an article that suggests the chinese were working on a general coronavirus vaccine that accidentally leaked thus how contagious it is in humans

We often misappropriate ineptitude with malicious intelligence. This thread feels to be within one standard deviation of that mean.

North Korea maybe created it and sent the infected across the border. Or maybe China created it and is collecting all the dead corpses to isolate a more deadly mutation. All drugs need a drug trial right?

P.s. I know I sound ridiculous but OP asked.

The good news is most states practice these scenarios with the hospitals a few times a year. Weaponized, non-weaponized doesn’t matter to you and me. If it ever got really bad, plan on a few weeks inside. All emergency management agencies recommend being self sufficient for at least 2 weeks. Keep in mind you have state and federal workers you’ll be relying on. Think McDonald’s supervisor level people. Don’t have high expectations. I’ve seen it from inside the EOC. The National Guard is better, but the absolute last resource deployed. Also not likely to help you.
