VP at A custodian bank and required in person a few days a week now that they’ve deemed the pandemic “over.” It isn’t working out - 4hr round trip commutes due to slower/less frequent trains and daycare with reduced hours. Found a role at State Street that’s a great fit, but AVP instead of VP. Remote eligible though and that’s huge. Would you take it? Also, is title negotiable so as not to bump me down a step?

Hey everyone, I am currently a junior and I just received offer at BNY Mellon in pittsburgh for the ten week summer 2022 analyst program in operations. I am very excited about the position and the opportunity however the thought of having to relocate with no assistance from BNY is somewhat scary. Does anyone have any advice on how they think I should go about finding a place to stay?

Is there a difference between 250k salary and 400k salary? Both salaries are watching spiderman on opening night. Both salaries have food on the table and a roof over their heads. One has a 65in tv vs the other has 75in. One drives a BMW the other a Tesla. I make around 250k and to increase my salary I will have to work a lot more. Is it really worth having more money, at some point it is just a number and quality of life doesn't improve. In fact it could be worse with the extra hours.

I am looking in earnest for opportunities to start a business that I can exit in 5-6 years and have some reasonable or moderate return on my startup expense plus operating profits, at a minimum cash flow. I will leverage debt to fund startup expenses. Perhaps continue in consulting to take the pressure off for a couple years at least while family assists with day to day etc. Roughly 100-150k .. Thoughts?

I have yoe 6.6 years, And am looking for senior consultant role ( I have MBA from tier II institute). While speaking to HR they said minimum experience should be 7 for Senior consultant position. Is it true or it can be negotiable ?

I recently interviewed for a position I was excited about. I like my job but this position seemed like a great fit. I met with five different individuals including a partner. Everyone was extremely nice. I received positive signaling and found out almost a week later that I didn’t receive the position. I have absolutely no idea why. Is it typical for companies to make you go through so many different interviews only to reject you?

Just got a controller offer with pretty expanded duties given no CFO at the company. Well funded tech startup, no shortage of cash. I only have 3 years experience at Big 4, so probably a little early for me to get this role BUT they offered me a salary way below what is reasonable for this role. A bit conflicted on if I should take it and run, or if its worth fighting for a comp that matches the duties

What are common exit opportunities from the Big 4 working in forensics and do the external salaries stack up against those of Big 4? Looking to leave as either a senior or a manager.

Wife and I were coming up with names for our boy and I googled the one we liked best and our future sons name would be exactly the same name as a character played by a major actor in a movie. It wasn’t a significant role but it gave me pause in moving forward with this name. Am I crazy

As I prepared to file my notice, the partner of the firm called me and asked me to stay. They’re willing to promote me mid year in December and increase salary next year in August. The current offer I have gives 60% pay increase and Partner still can’t match that offer after promotion. Firm leadership says here I have potential to be a partner in 8 years and talk about all the leadership support I have rn which is fair. Is this one of their tactics to make me stay or should I just leave…
