Hello all. I have a total YoE of 3.5 years. I am currently working in PI. I want to exit the big 4 and enter industry. Any suggestions on exit opportunities would be highly appreciated.
Do you think agencies are hiring a larger percentage of freelancers to bypass their promises of improved parental leave, which are only available to full-time staff?
Hello, to the Fishbowl Community! Been a financial analyst at a big bank for about 8 months now. Currently in a middle market position analyzing companies and underwriting credit memos, etc. that kind of work. Career trajectory looks like FA>Credit analyst>Portfolio Manager/relationship manager, then senior leadership. Looking to move from commercial banking side of things and explore a role in Investment banking in a couple years. Anyone in here done something similar? Is it feasible? Tips?

Tip for new public accountants: try industry at least once in your life. You'll see what a normal office environment is like and how toxic a lot of firms are. I was lucky enough to intern in industry before starting in public, so I knew I would want out of public before I even started. But the people who never had a job before public accounting are really doing themselves a disservice by staying in public and thinking it's normal and letting themselves be burnt out
Been working in PA for 2 years. No prior internships or business related work. Is it okay that my resume is just my associate role with like 15 bullet points? Not sure how to fill in the blank space, and it feels super lame to bring in non-relevant college jobs. Can I include ways I'm involved at the firm like mentorship and diversity initiatives?
Any Accenture Interactive account folks on what makes a successful Account Lead at AI. I've been approached for a "Digital Transformation Executive" role, but my knowledge of digital transformation/CX/BX is cursory at best. I crashed and burned pretty hard at Publicis Sapient (now back industry-side) and am wary of going back into the digital transformation space. However, the AI folks insist my general business background, MBA and brand strategy experience will translate to success.
2.5 years at Tier 2 or 3 consulting firm 🤷♂️ and looking to transfer to MBB (preferably). I know 3 people at M, is it weird to just hit them up and ask for a referral?
Blunt message I give to 1st years: "Everyone assumes you have the skills and knowledge of a toddler. Don't talk about what classes you took or your internship. Say and be open to anything."
With the new 2 deadlines for intern/FT recruiting at MBB; out of curiosity, is there a significant difference in terms of competitiveness for each deadline? I plan to apply for the 2022 internships for the Sept deadline, and have heard that the Fall cycle will be significantly more competitive due to the lower number of spots available after the first cycle.
any funny intern stories from this busy season?
Can any Adobe 🐟 help me out with comp for a Sr. Solutions Architect? Am I correct that a a Solutions Architect is L5 and Sr. Solutions Architect is L6? Glassdoor is showing the following averages: Base: $162k RSU: $34k/yr Bonus: $10k Is this in the ballpark? Role is remote in a LCOL southern state. Thank you in advance!
How likely is it that I'll get OT this busy season as an intern at Deloitte? My last team made interns go home at 5pm. So, No OT for them.
Can someone provide feedback on this offer? Analyst role, fed govt contract analyst. Currently <2yoe in audit. Role is max 40 hours a week. Pay will be 80-90k. I like the hours and deviation from accounting, worried about what a government role might do to my career projections. Thanks!
Does pre-MBA T2 consulting experience help or hurt for M7 summer internship interviews at MBB? Have heard prior consulting is helpful but have also heard that MBB doesnt like “bad habits” formed at other consulting firms.
Have a Delta credit card? Can you get in SkyClub? You have 2 free premium drinks per DAY waiting for you right now.
Where do you work and whats was your bonus %?

Edward Jones advisor with 30 million AUM and roughly 250k gross production. Been there for almost 4 years. Got an offer at Merrill Lynch to take over a 100 million dollar retirement transition plan in 5 years, or to join a 5 person Merrill Lynch team that manages a lot. Pros to EJ: Have my own office, a year or two away from partnership, great office setting and client satisfaction. Pros to Merrill: Bump in compensation, additional tools and services w banking, ability to take over assets.
Are there any married couples working at two different big 4 firms? How did you make sure your finances were compliant with both?
Which firms have the fastest career path outside of MBB and T2? I know those are up or out and they must be fast. But are there other firms that are known for promoting quickly? What is the average years to partner at your firm?
