NYC-based former Navy SWO here, and yes, I feel the same as you. After a year and a half trying to make the best of tedious implementation work while fruitlessly trying to network my way into more creative roles/projects, I'm finally moving on. Got poached by an IoT startup to do what I wanted to do in consulting in the first place: build products and services that improve customers' lives in the connected car space. Will miss the wonderful people I met at Accenture, but that's about it.
Holy crap - 3 years and don't feel like you have learned anything?? I just started at the company - this is disheartening :(
Here here! I have been bouncing around and going from each project but I’m getting tired of having to internalize a new set of issues every client. I’m now pursuing my Salesforce certificationS!! through veterans.force.com . VetForce will fully cover the costs of in-person certification training for veterans and the exam fees! I’m hoping to leverage these skills to transition out of consulting and into an in-house tech role
Also, just to be honest here - ACN internal training, especially for AFS people sucks compared to industry. Too often training is denied for no reason and there are too many gate keepers to get good solid training
Didn't say I learned nothing. I just haven't learned any tangible skills that would translate to industry. I know how to bullshit really well though
Right - that is my concern as well as I start out in consulting. I always thought we had a leg up, at least for exit options compared to our "industry" peers...maybe not?
A1 how did that company find you? At ACN 2.5 years and feel the same
Learn how to Network and manage multiple deliverables St same time and then leave. Consulting skills will prepare you well for internal professional services roles at companies and then once in, you can bounce around
