Hi! I’m new here.
New to Fishbowl?

I have windows that do not open. I also have mold on the walls, floor and storage area. I have no ventilation to speak of. We do not know our plan yet for returning, but I’m very anxious about it.
Check out your state laws on this. I had it in my classroom and I was so sick that I was out of work for 8 weeks due to toxic black mold. You can bring a lawsuit against them for not cleaning it, as long as you either have a union or the law explicitly states what level of mold is unsafe. In my state that was the issue. There is none and we have no union. I was jumping through hoops to have my room tested and I was treated horribly because of it.

I do not have windows but I also don’t believe there is a mold problem... I live in AZ though so humidity is rare and I feel like mold isn’t as common

We aren’t anticipated to go back for awhile. But I’m also at an alternative school where my class sizes are small.
Absolutely right teachers will have a discomfort to teach in a mold environment. Parents will be uncomfortable as well.
Parents should be uncomfortable! Unfortunately in my district they act like the mold issue is some sort of conspiracy. Teachers have complained for years, if not decades about it and all we get is a custodian to spray it with bleach. All better! Meanwhile, the main issue (ventilation) is not addressed and the mold grows back. Administration denies the problem exists, so parents don’t even know the conditions of their children’s classrooms.
