Hi folks,
Can anyone confirm the variable policy of TechM, is it monthly or quarterly.
Heard from few folks that its was changed to quarterly and in offer letter nowhere its mentioned that its monthly or quarterly.simply said applicable as per variable policy.
Any folks recently joined and received salary please confirm it.
Thank you

I have a neuromuscular disease and it is very difficult to balance health and career. I always just work ten times harder than everyone else and my health has paid the price. I spend most weekends just recovering from the week and resting to try to gear up for the next week. I was willing to make the sacrifice when I was younger and gave up most fun and personal life but ie I have a child and itās not doable anymore. I also made the mistake of not disclosing my health issues to most colleagues. Now that Iām older, the cumulative effect is becoming more problematic to the point where I query my ability to continue in this profession until retirement. I wish I had good advice but the best I can say is donāt do what I do and have a plan for how you will cope as you age. Try to figure out a modified work schedule if you need to and work hard when you do feel up to it. Also I think if you open up about your health issues then people will be more understanding.
Thanks for the advice. I have told the coworkers my age that I am friends with and my supervisor and work group, but I havenāt told many others because Iāve heard the way they talked about a paralegal that had a chronic condition and had a modified schedule and I just didnāt feel comfortable sharing with those after that. I am pretty worried about coping as I age, because this stuff runs in my family and I have seen how bad it can get ā but those family members arenāt as career focused as me and none of them got sick in their 20s like I did, so they had more flexibility.

Feel free to DM, OP.
Been dealing with multiple chronic conditions, incurable ones. Have been trying to manage them along with my treatments and medications.

I have multiple chronic conditions. I took some time off last summer to see a special doctor that has helped me significantly using a more holistic approach. I donāt really take time off other than that but I have always gone home earlier and not felt pressured to stay. I used to get real bad flare up every morning and would sometimes have to come in an hour or so late so my immediate team members were informed generally that I donāt feel well in the mornings. I think as long as you pull your own weight and donāt leave things to other people, everyone is pretty understanding of needing to work from home or taking long lunch breaks. No one ever said anything to me. I would also leave and let everyone else when I did so it wasnāt like I made them stay and work while I went home.

Do the people on your team know itās for a medical reason? I stay home more often but always pull my own weight too. Iām home but Iām working. And just being upfront to people that either itās medical or Iām working from home in the mornings. Sometimes I would come in after lunch all together because it was easier for me to work from home then break for lunch and use that time to go to the office. While that feels like more time away I think it made it more obvious that I wasnāt just taking the morning off. Also I would email and chat people at 8:30 especially if they seemed salty.
