To be perfectly honest, I would much rather play in the boys club then the girls club... Women are far worse
No... I may be a girl, but my dick is bigger than theirs.
You have to be crazy not to think the boys club exists. I've openly heard comments about women not being promoted or receiving a smaller bonus because they have "prioritized starting their family." Keep in mind these women get more shit done in the same amount of time as their male counterparts.
Op: you may want to reevaluate if you are suited for and professionally fulfilled in this industry. Here's why: 1)Not all women are cut out for it, and that is fine. But I will say there is no shortage of talented female seniors, juniors, and interns that love and thrive in this field happily working with their male counterparts in a highly competitive industry 2)With that "tired" victim mindset you'll bring yourself down emotionally and it won't help your game. 3)you have options a) change industries b) join your firm's in house women's professional network ( good resource for mentoring/ advice) or join a co. that has one in place, most do. c) start your own co. 4) if you read Lean in, bear in mind that while the book is all feel good, a shrewd woman recognizes the many misassumptions, specious reasoning , and questionable data/ research espoused in the book. 5)lastly, bear in mind the men are adapting to our presence on teams as we are to them. There are a plethora of financial professional men who value the different perspective, skill sets, and efforts female colleagues bring to the table and seek their participation. It is also your job to recognize and seek their support and demonstrate value, just like the guys are trying to do every day.
Agree with GS1, you just need to play the part. Have to admit it can be tiring though. MS1, no I haven't yet! But intend to.
Have you read Lean In?
I'm a guy and couldn't care less about the boys club and it has worked out fine. Maybe in some groups / banks it's worse than others

Haha. I can see both sides here. Just assuming no lines are being crossed @OP! It does get tiring but that's why we're here to keep changing it :-)
