Any other young mom's here? I'm 25 and have a 1 year old and I feel like I can't relate much to my peer group at work.

I had my firstborn as an associate. Currently a senior expecting our second! Honestly, I don't feel guilty about not being able to stay in the office late and join in after-work activities. My priority is my family and I love it this way

I'm on a similar schedule (8:30-3:30) and then work after my daughter goes to bed. I struggle maintaining this schedule when things get really busy, so I try and coordinate with my husband so that he does pick up duty on tuesdays and Thursdays and I stay later. So far so good, but I do feel like I sacrifice time at home sometimes in order to manage everything. It's either that or stay up later to get things done, and you can only function on minimal sleep for so long.

Lol i just relate to the older moms! About 26 here with a toddler. And you'll be surprised, sometimes unexpected people will enjoy reminiscing on early parenthood! Put up some baby photos :) the cleaning lady said she loved walking by my desk 😂

Same here! I definitely have a better relationship with the other parents in my group. Oh I've got my baby girl all over my desk. Makes me smile every morning when I see her face everywhere 🥰

I had my daughter very young, before I started college, so when I started as an associate my daughter was the same age as parters kids 🤣 it’s interesting, but I relate and acknowledge the struggle we all face as working parents no matter how old we are or our kids are 🤗 Just be open and honest about why you aren’t coming to happy hours or you flexible work schedule. It will empower others even without kids to realize they can do those things too!

I’m 31 and a new hire. I already fell out of place. I’m planning for a baby next year. I don’t know how you do it. What do y’all need to relate on?

I feel bad not participating in the volleyball or kickball leagues and I have to force myself to go to a happy hour every now and then so I am not completely out of touch.

I’m much older with two kids and I don’t participate in those thing either. I have to get home and that’s my priority. Sometimes it’s hard but I always remind myself of my priorities

I make about $320k and my dream home on a lake is for sale at $1.4MM - probably would get about $300k out of my current house and could come up with more down payment without too much trouble. No other debt… crazy for considering?? I’m in a LCOL market and house is in a great school district. Obviously this is stretch to the 3x income rule, but not terribly so. Wdyt?
