Any paralegals who have had private firm experience and in-house, what were the pros & cons of each? I’ve only ever worked in litigation firms but I’m curious about a change to an in-house position. What’s it like?

Also doing MBA part time at a T15 school. Thinking about switching to IB but I’ve done my research and I think I would burn out of IB in two years but I might be ok with that for the opportunities after.

Feeling so lost. One day it hit me hard that I don’t think the career path I’ve been in is right for me. It’s been gnawing at me ever since. Looking for a change, but don’t want to leave my company just for the sake of leaving, or just better pay. I want to know that my next move is a step that is going to take me places.

I feel utterly passionless which doesn’t help. And anything that sounds remotely interesting isn’t something I feel I can monetize.

Am I alone in this? Any advice?

I was working as a regular staff therapist for 2 years at an assisted living when just 2 weeks back the HR approached me with an offer to work at a newly opened senior living, so basically I will helping them set up that location from scratch, open it and get it running. For doing all this they have not even clearly offered me a promotion, raise or a change in position. What should I do?

Curently I'm an undergrad student and an MBA student. I started my bachelor's in Aug 2020, from which I graduate in Dec 2022. I started my MBA classes in Jan 2022, from which I graduate in Dec 2023. I want to apply to Amazon as an MBA intern, but it requires the following basic qualification: 3+ years of experience which occurred after completing undergrad and before starting MBA. But I found one thing unusual that I did not have any salary negotiation call neither any hr round.

They released offer letter directly on ibegin portal with 60% hike on my current ctc .

Should I consider this as a fake recruitement.

How do you all save for a down payment? Graduated last year. No debt. 1 month from having my emergency fund. Not contributing to 401k now but will contribute 6% in a month.

I recently changed jobs and my new 401K provider - Principal has very limited MF investment options. My prior employer’s 401K was managed by Fidelity and provided me access to a range of MF options. I believe that the fund options are negotiated by the employer and provider? Two questions. First - I have not rolled over my previous 401K to the new one. Would there be any problems. Second - is there a way I could move my current 401K to another (precious) provider?

Curious for everyone’s thoughts on real-estate right now.. my spouse and I are in Denver and trying to buy our first home. To get a halfway decent 3BR home, we have to spend upwards of 500k and still put a little work/investment in to update the home.. I can’t help but feel we should be waiting for 6 more months and seeing if the price drops.. I want to take advantage of the low rates right now, but can’t believe a half million still requires further investment to update the home.

Has anyone ever gone on disability at a law firm where you’re the only paralegal to the partner of the firm? I’m worried I’ll be replaced while I’m out or that I’ll be letting him down. Hi everyone. Is it typical for the attorney to take credit for the work a paralegal does? An example: I gave some ideas about deposition questions and some observations I made (I was asked about giving suggestions) regarding a witness and the attorney mentioned that he’s the one that had these great questions/observations. How does your firm work? Mine works like this: associates do all the work on the cases, but the partners name goes on the bills to bring in the clients. When you ask the partner a question, they have no idea what the case is about, status, etc and tell you to ask the associate. Shouldn’t the partner’s hand be in the case since they are the one signing off on it?
