I never outgrew it. Signed, former baby.
Yes. Aveeno Eczema Relief did it for us. Great lotion.
1. Def aveeno lotion 2. Aveeno also makes a wonderful oatmeal bath (only warm water and try to limit baths to about 10 min ) 3. Hydrocortisone is helpful as well but do not use long term - a night here and there is fine 4. Talk to your pedi about topical creams as well - there are prescription ones
Shea butter
Mommy of three at your service. :-) 😘💁
Second the Aveeno product. My oldest has my wife's skin... eczema and keratinosis (sp?). Annoying in the best of times and miserable in winter. It has gotten better with age (almost 3 now) and regular lotion.
Cerave products are life changing for eczema. Also playing around with diet helps.
Cut dairy - it contains sugars and hormone (even organic it's naturally occurring hormone) that aggregates skin conditions especially eczema. I also bought a anti chlorine shower head that purifies the water you wash in. Dairy was the key for me though not sure how you do that for a baby
Another vote for Aveeno. Wife uses it too'
Oh yeah. Closely trimmed nails to minimize damage from scratching... we used to do 3x / wk. suckers grow fast.
Eucerin works too! I have had it since birth and it is usually related to allergies. I now get it with stress... eucerin, aveeno, and doctors prescriptions usually do the trick so I can still eat what I'm allergic to
My twins and I all have eczema- the aveeno lotion is a godsend !
Eczema is a gut health issue, not a skin issue. Like others said, it could likely be a food intolerance. Dairy and/or gluten are good places to start. An intolerance to those would NOT necessarily show up on a standard allergy test since allergies trigger a histamine response whereas an intolerance is the inability to break down and digest proteins and enzymes (in simple terms). Definitely start an elimination diet ASAP and use some Aveeno in the meantime. Good luck!
+1 to Aveeno, consult a doctor for the use of steroid creams, patience, patience, patience. It's a tough spot to be in for mommy/daddy and baby to be in.
Please try and go gluten free and dairy free and see if it helps. Also lookup that condition for infants @ www.inspire.com. Great collaboration portal. Eczema is auto-immune. You have to find the trigger.. since it is eczema, I would also recommend 100% cotton clothes and sheets.
(My middlest had an undiagnosed dairy allergy that resulted in both diminished weight gain and eczema)
Also make sure you are not dressing your little one too hot at night. If this just started he/she could be overheating a bit as well???
Curel anti itch lotion worked wonders for me
Sorry to hear that. Not sure of age, assume if (s)he is young that you've tried mittens and that you have also looked at food allergies.
How old is the little one???
