I have a couple of questions for ZS fishes-
1. Is it possible to turn down a promotion at ZS? I'm currently happy with my responsibilities as a Decision Analytics Consultant and don't want any added responsibilities in the near future (next 5 years)
2. Is it possible to shape up a career path in the BC stream which doesn't involve business development? I don't want to get into working on SOWs and RFPs.
Is financial engineering a thing?

FCB Chi is hiring PMs! DM me if interested!
I went from ad to pharma, but was headhunted. For the most part it’s very similar, Klick is always hiring PMs (we have something like 180? PMs so it was nice to have a team as opposed to the VP Client Service be your manager or something). Healthcare exp wasn’t necessary when I got poached since Klick had a great way of making sure you knew your fundamentals during on-boarding. Re: tech: I think knowing agile or having a PMP cert is much more important because those spaces likely will mean that you are a product PM as opposed to creative. The fundamentals required there are slightly different and are a bit more structured than a creative PM.
Depends on your client but typical ebbs and flows. A friend on another account / business unit (we call them CSTs) has a much easier and typical workload (clock in clock out), I have a more insane one. Hard days are hard but the easy days mean I can literally just chill out all day. Some weekend work required on my side especially for launches but generally have gotten lieu days back.
I went from ad agencies to healthcare, then to tech. Getting the healthcare job (within the marketing department) was easier because I had healthcare clients during my time at the agencies. Getting into tech was much harder, but I studied my butt off for interviews and accepted a slightly lower role (much higher salary) to get my foot in the door.
Excited to hear tips!! I’ve been trying to move from PM/agency background into tech for 6 months with no luck. Remote roles are super competitive
Ahhhhhh. I wish. Pivoted to pharma with hopes of doing healthcare / tech next. Current client is a late stage bioscience startup… so we’re getting closer.
