Switch to Strategy?
L7 Consulting, Chicago, $152k, ~4 YoE total. MD in Strategy has offered to sponsor me to move over as Manager. I’ve been told by SMD in Consulting (who recruited me) that I should be expecting L6 SM in the next year, year and a half, and likely won’t get promoted as fast in Strategy. Would welcome advice on how to think about transfer / negotiating compensation if I stay in Consulting. TIA!

How to negotiate with the company who tries to depreciate the current package because they find its a short duration (4months) with the current company? Appreciate your help on this.

Say you receive an offer letter from a tech company of 165k base (let’s just focus on base for now). This offer was exactly what you were looking for when you started your job search. However, initially you told the recruiter you were looking for 160-175k.

I recently (within 6 months) transitioned to a new role at my job which was supposed to be a promotion. But they've just been having me audit and haven't finalized my new job duties. They said they have plans but that I'll be auditing for several more months. I'm about to have my performance review and just received a job offer at another company. Is there a good way to leverage this respectfully? I ultimately want an action plan for growth, a concrete job description, and a pay increase.

I will be losing on a lot of bonus if I join Cognizant. Should I negotiate on my CTC adding my bonus in my base salary or ask them to compensate for the lost bonus as joining bonus

Also, I had a retention clause with my current company for a certification I did, which was costly; can I ask Cognizant to consider paying it?
