Also, just may not be ready. My son did exactly what you described and we went back to diapers after 4 days of trying. 6 weeks later, and he decided himself he wanted to go in the potty and that was it!

That’s actually very reassuring. He’s 2.5 and “should” be ready but today was an utter disaster (one time in the potty, about 5 “accidents”. How old was yours when he was ready?
Pro
I had a friend who showed their kid how to clean up their own “oops” . So if they don’t go in the right place, they have to clean it up, and it helps them learn where the wrong place is

I swear he’s doing it on purpose. This is literally the most frustrated I’ve been with him in 2.5 years.

If he does go in the to potty, do you reward? E.g., popsicle, goldfish
Rising Star
Yes he got goldfish the one and only time he went

Oh other thing to try: take his favorite stuffed animal and pretend it goes on the potty
Rising Star
Thanks I’ll try that next

Did you just start? It can take a while. We basically did this over thanksgiving break last year and I set a timer to take him every hour, which helped when he started getting a little bit rebellious. We have potty books that we read while we wait for pee or poo and sang the same songs so it became more routine. Lots of praise for going (we gave mini gummy bears). There were lots of accidents over that first week and it gradually got better. It’s super frustrating and even 6 months later there is still a lot of parent involvement with potty time.
