Actual pianos have much, much better action and nothing can replace that feeling if you’re a serious piano player. However, for a 6 year-old, being able to turn the volume down is not a bad thing, and since you don’t know how seriously they’ll play and you don’t want to spend $5K for nothing, digital likely works. As for brands, again we’re talking a 6 year-old that has never played right? Literally drive to Costco and get whatever is there (likely a Yamaha, which is decent). If you go to a music store they may try to up sell you into something you don’t need. If you’re serious about it though, Yamaha and Kawai are good starters for upright.

You’ll need an actual piano. My parents found me a sweet little upright kimball at a yard sale for like $11k, I think, when I was 7. I love that thing. Just make sure you have it looked at by a tuner if you’re not buying it from a store that will give you a guarantee. Also, you’ll need to make sure it’s been appropriately stored for your climate. The last thing you want is a tuner coming in after you’ve already bought it and breaking all of the strings. My mom made that mistake a year ago bc my niece and nephew like to smack the keys (didn’t need to be tuned LOL), didn’t use our usual guy and it cost a FORTUNE to replace all of the strings he broke. It hadn’t been tuned for a decade. I have a full electric one in my apartment across the country and I’m the only one who plays.

Went to a networking cocktails last night with LPs. For some odd reason there were quite a few young attractive women mixing it up, but who couldn’t explain what they did or where they worked. Turns out the organizer hired models to do the rounds because otherwise “there would be too many dudes”. Maybe I’m getting old but I felt more, not less awkward and uncomfortable 🤦‍♂️

Hi, sorry if this a repetitive question, but I tried scrolling a couple weeks down and searched but didn’t find what I needed. I’m 22, a new grad and I do not have style. I’m also 5’0 so I look like a small child with my cheap work clothes on. When in person work resumes, I would like to have some clothes I feel confident in. What are some moderate/low priced go-to brands for business casual? And who are some influencers you take inspiration from when it comes to styling? Thank you!!!
